And leave the cash shop off of these servers. I love alot of what I've read about this game, but I just won't pay a game with a CS that has anything but cosmetic items in it, I'd prefer not even that because you know EVENTUALLY the sword of 1000 truths will show up in that thing. Make it a smaller sub, like maybe 9 bucks a month and I bet you'd be shocked at how popular those servers would be. |

What do ya'll think? Good idea or worst idea ever? Try and be objective and don't take the very idea as some sort of personal attack. |

I'd very strongly consider buying GW2 if they had that option... GW2 "built from the ground up with microtransactions in mind" |

I'd actually like to see more games do something like this. Whether it be D3 with a 'no RMAH server', F2P games with pure sub server and sub games with F2P/cash shop server counterparts.
When it comes down to it, as long as the code is there to allow it, no one loses. It's a lot like allowing RPer and PvEer and PvPers their own servers imo. We really need separate forums for every newly launched game. There can be the anti-<MMO> one and there can be the 'what general discussion should be' one. All the lamenting can happen together where each can find solace in like minded can't-move-on-ers leaving the rest of us to actually move forward and discuss meaningful and relevant topics. |

I agree. I will pay a sub for something like that. It will never happen though because Anet will lose money doing that. Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not. |

I would pay a full subscription fee I think..........providing this game has the content to justify it,. I am glad to see some reasonable responses. I was expecting to get Trollololololol'd. :) |

It's not going to happen, no matter how many of these plea threads that come up. If the current model they are pursueing doesn't work, then they may consider it. If you look at the hype and the likely success of GW2 despite the detractors, there is no real need for them to do this.
Probably not the most popular answer, but one I'm afraid that is going to be lived with. They are coming for you! |

Oh I agree, but why wouldn't it happen? It would mean additional money. There are tens of thousands of us I'd wager who won't try this game strictly because its going to be p2w. They shouldn't just dismiss another revenue stream out of hand, many businesses have mulltiple payment options. |

/insert Willy Wonka meme/ You made a new CS thread. You must have got a new and very creative idea to give to arenanet. |

I'd jump all over that as I very much dislike cash shops, but am otherwise very interested in the game. I can begrudgingly tolerate vaity only cash shops... but even then I have a limit. Unfortunately with the way things are looking for GW2's cash shop, I may end up not picking up the game at all. |

Originally posted by KingGator Yep P2W if it ends up that way will kill the game. But they can change it fast if needed to. I think with everyone attitude with the CS they might pull it off. Only a decade ago most gamers wouldn't play F2P or CS shop games because they didn't think it was right, now we have somewhere around 100million going to jump on the GW2 wagon and spend their mony in the CS. Love it! I won't be playing it until well after the launch and we get honest reviews on the game. If it is P2W I won't be picking it up. |

Im seriously wondering here.. why all the hate for a CS? From what i gatherd from the "leak" nothing in there bothers me at all. I dont plan on buying any of the boosts, keys, or res orbs. Maybe a character slot, the dye pack looks juicy, bank slots, and maybe Bags if i dont wanna wait to get em in game. The game is not based on gear. (yes i know said many many many times) You are automatically deleveled when you go into a lower leveled zone so you dont steam roll it. So yes it is for all intents and purposes Cosmetic. None of the items i saw worked in PvP.
So please. In the spirit of the rational posts i have seen here. Tell me why the hate. |

Originally posted by KingGator It would mean additional money from much less people compared to how many will definately buy the game now. What bugs me the most is that people like you feel the need to create the same threads over and over and over whining about a item shop you have NO CLUE about and most of all one you ASSUME it is the way you think it is or that it will be the way you think it will be. Only because other developers went bad ways, it doesn't mean that everyone has to do the same. Inform yourself properly and decide then. If you think a other game is more suitable to you then go ahead and play that instead. GW1 worked with that payment option greatly and GW2 will have lots of success the same way. |

Most games with cash shops are going away from pay to win now. To assume that just becuase something HAS a cash shop it will lead to a pay to win scheme eventually is flawed logic, A in this situation does not lead to B. WoW sells sparkle ponies, yet they still don't sell a sword of a thousand truths. Gw2 is fine the way it is with the cash shop the way it is, GW1 has one, lots of games have one. |

Although the idea is actually a good one, I would probably bow out of purchasing the game personally. As much as I hate cash shops, I hate subs even more. Mainly because every sub based game makes you pay for the box, charges a sub, AND has a Cash Shop. This is actually a game killer for me.
