I will not buy this game for 44.90€ and not for 54.90€ because i am missing to much and it doesnt feel like a finished game.

GUI = cannot be resized or moved... why not ??

Macros = non existant , need to click on hotbars or keys like crazy.....

depth = well not until Level 15, just the same quests over and over

Travel = from level 1-15 my biggest complaint is the slow running and travel, often looks like a huge waste of time

Same MOB´s over and over, theres really lack of creativity here. At least until level 15 most enemies looked the same.

The Skill system is slow and boring. One point per level is all you can assign, no way to configure your char but Items and this one skillpoint.

I saw a few bored Level 50 players hanging around at the PvP terminal... no much else they did it seemed.

The game overall feels like a closed rstricted gameworld to me, straight storylines, move from point A to B then C and and and....... The feeling of a free world mmorpg doesnt come up, at least not in the trial time.

The game is to expensive as well for a mmorpg. Single player games cost that much. If they would offer the game for 19.99€ + 30 days i would eventually buy it but not for 45-55 Euro (69$) thats simply to expensive.

Maybe this game gets better after level 15 when the trial is over but Trial player will never know that.. Maybe they should increase the Trial max level to 20 or 25.

I am sure this game will become very cheap in the next few month because many players wont continue their sub´s.

My guess is that the game gets better and cheaper over time and so i am waiting.................................................................

He didn't say that he did not figure it out in 8 hours either.

And claiming that you're a real gamer and he's not is just plain absurd, in a lot of different ways.

That said, OP:

The UI is going to be customizable here soon with the fabled 1.2 update.  However, most of what else you mentioned has not been (nor likely will ever be) addressed.

Except price.  The game will get very cheap in a matter of a handful of months.

There's no real relief on this, they used a lot of the same models, and they are really static, same groups, same place + fast respawns.

Don't say that here, the theme park barbarians will gnash their teeth

He didn't mean that every body, he's cool with the linear progression I'm sure.

You want to throw away your money developing something stupid, go ahead.

GUI = cannot be resized or moved... why not ??

GUI resizing is coming in 1.2

Macros = non existant , need to click on hotbars or keys like crazy..... ,

There is a post somewhere by the dev's which explains why they do not want Macros ingame , something along the lines of 'Players will not be allowed to gain an advantage jsut because they know how to write Macro's as opposed to those who do not'

depth = well not until Level 15, just the same quests over and over

Level 15? so you got off Starter Planet and got to Capital. All missions in any kind of MMO are the same 'Kill XX, Fetch XX'

Travel = from level 1-15 my biggest complaint is the slow running and travel, often looks like a huge waste of time

Level 14 you get your sprint (in LEgacy system all alts will start with sprint) and once you reach Tatooine you will be ready for mounts (these come in 3 tiers set through levels)

Same MOB´s over and over, theres really lack of creativity here. At least until level 15 most enemies looked the same

Again every MMO has trash mobs drawn from the same 1-2 templates with Named and World Bosses being unique

The Skill system is slow and boring. One point per level is all you can assign, no way to configure your char but Items and this one skillpoint.

erm did you even go to the Advanced vendor and choose you advanced class at level 10ish? Then revisit every level to obtain skills. Char advancement is (again) the same as pretty much every other MMO

I saw a few bored Level 50 players hanging around at the PvP terminal... no much else they did it seemed

Warzones? Crafting? playing the GTN? Did you ASK them what they did at 50?

The game overall feels like a closed rstricted gameworld to me, straight storylines, move from point A to B then C and and and....... The feeling of a free world mmorpg doesnt come up, at least not in the trial time. Class quests run you through the planet, exploring the planets will help you find missions, Heroics to be run, Area missions to be found... Just not that much to do the first few planets

Trial is to give a 'TASTE' of the game, not let you play half of it for free...

I am sure this game will become very cheap in the next few month because many players wont continue their sub´s.

Sub price is already cheaper than most games (£8.99 pm for UK) and EVE have reduced their sub prices as well.

My guess is that the game gets better and cheaper over time and so i am waiting.................................................................

Retail cost of game is down to the retailers, not EA/BW, they get the 'Stock' price for supplying it for retail

You're only a real gamer if you hate TOR? Guess that makes me and several of my friends pretend gamers. Oh well... see you all on Mr Rogers Neighborhood!

"Just because every other MMO has it/is like that" is not a valid defence to any argument. In 2004 maybe, but it is now 2012.

/end every swtor/wow clone argument.

ok, it seems here are a lot of young SWTOR players feeling offended by my little posting. Guys it wasnt my intention to offend or anger any of you. I just wrote whats the reasons i am not willing to spend my money on this game.

i am a casual player, i have a job and a family, yes it took me 2x4 days to play all the classes to level 10-15. i had breaks because i had to go to work, care about my family and sleep. 7 days and a higher Trial level than Level 15 maybe changed the impression i got from this game.

i am not a mmorpg freak just a Star Wars fan thats all :)

Sorry if i upset some of you ! no need to start a War here ! thnx alot

So now it turns out the "real" gamers are the ones who tried SWTOR for a few hours and didn't like it.

LMAO

With that attitude, you're just a "real" loser.

Yep, I lose by saving my money and time.

Rofl, someone doesnt know the difference between someone whos lost something and a loser, now thats sad.

Would you like me to buy you a new car or pony? This loser can afford it.

I doubt you could buy anything to anyone. You seem to be really concerned about saving your money and time lol.

Checkmate.

haha, i pity the guy but it's a good laugh :)

Actually 'Every other MMO has it' is a wholly valid argument, it indicates a standard among MMO's.

Until a developer can pull an unlimited amount of cash to create a wholly uniqie game that will run on every system whilst fulfilling every whim of it's audience 'Every Other MMo Has It' will have to suffice.

There are a lot of people who agree with your experience, the ones who don't would prefer this sub-forum to only have positive posts as they have no confidence in the quality of this game to attract players.

I am in a similar boat as well, I work fulltime and am a 'Casual' player (puts on Flame Suit) but I have played Games and online gaming starting with the BBC in the 80's.

In all honesty I miss games that had a 'story' that immersed the player, rather than the current crop of 'Right now, time poor, Cash Rich' players that seem to inhabit most games.

"Just because every other MMO has it/is like that" is not a valid defence to any argument. In 2004 maybe, but it is now 2012.

/end every swtor/wow clone argument.

The rumored over 9000 million spent on SWTOR is about as close as unlimited as you can get. Yet its the most worthy of the 'wow clone' tag out of all the others. Pretty much in a nutshell why every man and his dog has his panties in a twist over this game.

Should have put quotation over the 'Rumoured 9000 Million' for added sarcasm!!

P.S it was OVAR 9000!!!!!!!

Why did you play it in the first place, you had to know what it was going to be like.  We have thousands of  threads about SWTOR and how they hate it, yours just adds to the pile.

Even so, I was interested in some peoples perspective on the trial, but you dont mention anything about the trial, just the game.  We have plenty of reviews of the game already.

I guess ppl can say what they want tho, freedom of speach and all.

All Im saying is your entire thread is in a tone which sux for fans, you dont mention anything good about the game.  20 dollars for this game is ridiculous, the content and the way the game flows from zone to zone, they put alot of efford and time into it.  Thats just a joke to say its only worth 20 bux.  These are human beings making this game, not inteligent robots, can you make something so much better given the circumstances.  Just about every child in north america was dreaming for months about SWTOR along with adults.  To live up to peoples expectations is not an easy thing which is compounded by silly reviews of how much the game sux.

Any way, Ill keep saying playing on planet Hutta with the imperial spy on empire side is worth the box price, that story and zones there fricken own.  If you dont at least play that side of the game, your no mmo player for sure.

The UI will be customizable in 1.2, should've been right from the beginning (alot of yelling about it in the past 2 years of beta), Drummond Kaas is probably the best and most fun quest planet of them all other than maybe Tatooine so you pretty much saw most of the fun. Other than that, 1.2 brings an NGE-like (SWG reference) "rebalance" to the entire game all because of the pvp mess, what's worse is they're buffing or not touching already top of the list classes in terms of powerful or overpowered and nerfing the least played classes.

Star Wars is about the galactic civil war, fighting other factions and species, not about going into caves and fighting 30ft monsters that glitch every 2nd run or perma enrages until you reset the instance. I played SWG to mostly pvp, I got SWTOR to pvp but Bioware is effectively eliminating pvp (ranked won't be all that great), as someone else said in these forums, SWTOR is repeating exactly what happened to Warhammer online- after all they DO have the guys from Mythic that nearly destroyed Warhammer online.
