So developers should focus on making the game look good before making sure the mechanic are balanced and working? That is just silly I do not want to play another game like Aion :P. I prefer my games to be fun to play, instead of look good. Their are a good number of games with low end graphics that have good game mechanic minecraft, terraria, torchlight, just to name a few. I do not get why some people expect mmo's to have to most realistic graphics. A majority of casual playerbase are using older computers, that is why they focus on improving the high end graphics last. Besides the graphics look good enough to me. |

This screen does a good job of showing how detailed this game can be. Notice also the lack of "jaggies". (Yes, this is a screenshot). (Click image for Full Resolution). Want to know more about GW2 and why there is so much buzz? Start here: Guild Wars 2 Mass Info for the Uninitiated |

Originally posted by makii There are some graphical restrictions, but I don't think any amount of pumping of graphics can make Divinities Reach look like Lions Arch. Of course this is just my uneducated guess. |

Who needs good graphics if game looks so beautiful as this one? |

The real killer is that the graphics are subpar compared to new games, but that it doesn't even run that well for low-end systems. |

Originally posted by RobertDinh Game is not out yet. They've said that they're optimizing the build. Now if the game is out and it's still horribly optimized, then they did break a promise. However, this is also why there's no release date yet. The game will be done when it's done. |

Didn't they say they were optimizing graphics? They've improved even since the first press beta. no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

Graphics are the least touchy subject for me. This isn't the 90's when Sega and Nintendo nerds went at it over colors per pixel. Who cares? They're subjective, if Robert doesn't like them, he's free to play the MMOs that in his opinion have better graphics. I can't think of any offhand, but that's just me. Your money, your choice. no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

I am really not sure I can understand the argument about how the game runs on low end PCs. Honestly I jsut built a new PC last month because my old one was so outdated pretty much the only MMORPG I could play was WoW. I had to run almost all other games on teh bare minimum settings and was still only getting 25fps.
Then I sat down and said to myself. This computer was built 4 years ago. its only an AMD Athalon X2 2.3 ghz with 4gig of ram. Maybe I need to build a new computer. So I went on Newegg and purchased 469$ worth of parts and got me this new computer which can run all games on Maximum settings. AMD FX 8150 BULLDOZER - ASUS M5A78L MB - 8 gigs of Corsair Vengeance - WD 1TB HD - Rosewill Destroyer Tower - Geforce GTX 460 *Upgrading to a self contained water cooler for the CPU soon for about 100$*
The only excuse if you cannot run modern games is pure laziness or your flat broke because you could pick up a part time job and build a new rig in less then a month. |
