1.  A server where the big guilds guzzle XP pots by the gallon to max everyone to 80, gear out in the best and then spend gold left and right on anything that might give even a tiny advantage.

 

2.  A server full of people that can't or won't use diamonds to hasten the process of leveling and wealth accumulation?

 

If there is any advantage to be gained from diamond bought gold in pvp, I no longer have any interest in it, except perhaps to pvp siege people's wallets.

 

 

I'll still do WvW despite the potential P2W aspects of it...but I'm definitely not happy about it.

I feel like anytime I play WvW, the specter of P2W is going to haunt the experience.  If one of my opponent servers always has decked out keeps...people aren't going to think that they must be really dedicated and spent a lot of time to get their keeps upgraded.  They are going to think that they used RMT to buy gold for their keeps.

And even if they didn't use RMT to upgrade their keeps...it's just ging to make the whole thing feel less fair.  WvW isn't just about the gumption, determination, and tactics of a server to win anymore.  It's about money.

I agree.  If nothing else, Anet should look really hard at how diamonds for gold will affect WvWvW, then remove any and all ways that gold can have an effect, even if the effect is tiny.

no. you need a resource called "supply" to build anything is WvW. supply is generated at fixed rates by supply depots. you can have all the gold evar, but it won't do you any good unless you have the supply.

EDIT: gold is needed to get the blueprints for seige weapons true, but again, you need supply to actually build them.

The plans themselves cost a small amount of gold but buy it via gems, or grind it via the game it won't make you a seige engine ever until you gather the materials needed to build it.

That's not quite right. Keep upgrades are bought with influence, and influence can be boosted with puchases. But the rate at which you can spend influence is capped, so gaining massive amounts of influence through boosting doesn't actually help.

You buy blueprints (golems, trebuchets) with gold, but they cost next to nothing, and you still need supplies to actually build them.

Ah, correct. I was refering to the guild perks that can boost those upgrades. So 2 out of 3 "currencies" that influence WvW performance cannot be bought, and the one that can is negligable, since the cost is so small and you earn gold from playing in WvW anyway.

Why would you need to "grind" for Gold outside of WvW? WvW offers full loot appropriate for your true level. The goal is that if you intend to level entirely in WvW, you can do so, with out needing to do World PvE content for gear, resources, gold or any other currency.

What he is saying is that Supply(a resource ONLY for WvWvW) cant be buffed because you get supply by the caravans that deliver it when you control a resource point.

And supply is the resource that matters in WvWvW, not gold.
