Originally posted by Beacker Yeap, cause you know people still go to arcades all the time. Even so, I could just wait and play GW2, Borderlands 2 or a F2P and not worry about a stupid sub fee that nickle and dime casuals with too much money then they know what to do with. |

Originally posted by Sector13 Well if you feel t hat you have to get that much time out of $15 dollar well i guess thats your opinion. But to some of us $15 dollar a month is pretty good deal even if you don't play 60hrs a week. Btw renting movie is like what? 1dollar for 2hrs? thats still 30bucks for 60hrs while sub is 15 for a month and 2hrs a day is 60hrs. If you like the game you won't mind 15 dollar if you don't thats other story. Personal choice really, and GW2 going to depend on its cash shop, so just instead of cost split to everyone, a small group pay for it. And to get anywhere in most F2P games your going to pay hella lot more than 15 dollar a month in to cash shop. |

Perhaps if people would stop paying for $15/1 to 3-month time wasters we'd start to see better games, maybe even multi-year time wasters. *twitch* "Censorship is never over for those who have experienced it. TERA will have Cronoscrolls which might as well be RMT that is authorized by En Masse. So, what makes the difference? As far as F2P games then you must suck at them cause I maxed out quite a few of them without having to pay a dime. So, your point is once again lost here. |

Originally posted by Sector13 Maxing lvl doesn't mean you get anywhere, you can max lvl but to compete with anyone your going to need cash shop most of the period. As for as WoW cash shop all i know is they offer like character transfer and allience changes? Not sure what other there is. TSW not even out, and Chronoscroll allow people to play for free, which is not cash shop, and RMT is to prevent gold selling. Never said there be any difference, its personal choice, if you don't feel that its worth 15 dollar a month don't play, many of us here feel it is and we will pay that 15 dollar a month. Our problem not yours. |

Originally posted by Sector13 Actually it was just an example and yes people still do. You also claim to be a casual gamer but you seem to frequent this board a lot so clearly you have more time on your hands than you claim. Obviously TERA is NOT the game for you. So why not let the people who like it play it and enjoy it. You don't need to come in here and try to point out everything that is wrong like how $15 is a waste for casual players. Guess what some don't mind paying it. I think you mean to go to the Maplestory forums and not TERA's. Also those games are about 60 each and equate to 8 months of an MMO right there. So if you're forking over more money for other games you're just paying over the sub/yr anyways. |

You know what I would like to see? a clone of EVERQUEST!!! it was the best game I ever played! I'd love a clone of EQ1 with Tera's graphics. I hate the quest system in all MMO's now a days. --Gaymer Extraordinaire-- |

Originally posted by JamesErnst That would be Everquest Next then. It is in development. From what I know they did 2 purposals for it a $100m version and a 20m version and they are going with the 20m version :/. While not an exact clone they do want it to be more like the original EQ. |

Originally posted by rexzshadow GW2 will not be pay2win. All end game items will have the same stats. There will not be some super rare Holy Sword of Pwnz that will offer stat advantages over less rare weapons. Just like in GW1, once you hit max level getting the highest level gear is fairly simple. In fact, if you go to pvp everyone will be using max level gear by default (your level gets bumped to 80, all your skills are unlocked, and you can customize your equipment with what a level 80 would wear). The rarity in items will be purely aesthetic, and believe me, people will pay a LOT of money for rarer skins, even if they don't offer any stat bonuses over normal gear. A-net wants to make GW2 PvP an eSports game, so for that balance and accessibilty is key. The game, and pvp especially, will be 100% skill based, since gear is completely normalized. I'll probably buy TERA and sub for at least 1 month, since the game looks pretty fun to play through at least once with a couple of different characters. |

Originally posted by EvilestTwin Didn't say GW2 is pay2win, i said most F2P games are. And yes i play LoL so i know how much money people spend on skins. Like i said GW2 going to be mainly funded by its cash shop, doesn't mean its pay2win. If GW2 can go E-Sport Tera would have much better chance, the combat in Tera itself is more skill based than GW2. Only thing is GW2 have more balance gear system which can easly be fixed by having default set for battle. Each of the game has its up and downs, and GW2 is not 100% skilled based, i seen the videos, range class get lock on attack thats pretty much kicks skill in the shin when you ranged attack hom on you. GW2 is a more polish verison of the traditional tab target system, its much more smooth and free and instead of tab target its auto target or you click if you choice. Just because your given the opinion of using skill w/o a target doesn't mean you don't need that lock on more than half the time. While GW2 does require skill in to a degree i don't think it will go E-Sport, i doubt Tera will either. Cloestest mmorpg i see going e-sport is grand chase, that game now is pure skill based because a lvl 1 naked will rhape a capped with bast cash gear character if the player is skilled. And its oo so fun watching that lol. |

it is really amazing, when you keep hearing people say. ( "this mmo offers nothing new" ) they offer no specifics or examples of what those new elements should be, yet they keep repeating themselves like a broken record. as if it was some kinda of National Slogan. welcome to the world of MMO. deep down they are basically all the same, yes even GW2 offers nothing new. dynamic public quests, events was already done in a game called Warhammer. yes they were a novelty at first, but eventually everyone and their mother got sick of them. if you really wanna see something radically new to the world of MMO . start saving some cash yourself, and make your own MMO then pray that people will play it. the core key basic elements are common to every MMO because it is what it works, and that is the best devs can come up with the technology we got available atm. you wont see that miracle MMO anytime soon. we all gonna be long dead before that happens. so yes, Tera offers nothing new, just like every other MMO on the market, and even GW2 and every other upcoming mmo. they are all basically the same, with different graphics. the question is, do we want to play a mmo because is fun or we want to play a mmo because is new? if what you want is something fun, something that already have been done but it works, and that can provide the players with a steady value in entertaiment. then i think Tera will do provide you with that. remember new things does not always means good. and take a look at Swtor as the best example of that. |

Originally posted by yaminsux i think that s where the answer lays. gamers seem to be slowly shifting their interest toward other forms of entertainment. so the (this mmo offers nothing new) statement, deep down, is nothing but an excuse that will make them feel better, and instead of seing that the problem is not the mmo, but the problem lays with themselves. |

Originally posted by Nadya3 agreeed, i think some people just been playing too much mmorpg and getting tired of the genre as a whole. But insteady of admiting that and go try something else they stick around and basically say nothing is as good as what they used to play. Even if the game they loved suddenly rebooted they probably still in for a huge disappointment. |
