This has nothing to do with Tera, but why must there be games that I must play "longer" before I "touch how awesome it is"? Does "first impressions" mean nothing to the developers of these games? Especially if the game will have subscriptions, shouldn't it feel "Awesome" right off the bat?

Well what do you think a first time MMORPG player thinks when he gets into the game and there is a lot of stuff to do and everything is hard? Obviously a game like this needs to be designed with new players in mind and already many people complained about how hard the combat system is even though they are still low level, imagine how hard they will consider it with BAMs where one misstake can kill you.

I mean you can reach 25+ in a day of playing much so most likely the first 10 or 20 levels are meant to be considered as a tutorial in a way.

my biggest con from from the beta test was the "sticking" but i dont think it's a gamebreaker, at least not for me.  i just think it's different than what im used to.  as far as the glyphs potentially becoming required, i guess it would depend on what the other glyph choices are. if i could choose 25% more dmg with a spell or be able to cast it while moving. it may not be such an easy choice.   also the "sticking" could potentially make the game more challenging, it may make you have to think twice about which spells to use, and when.

Honestly, if they're saying tera is a true action-mmo, then there should be NO movement limitations except for certain abilties that would have casting times, or possibly a power-up melee attack or something.

You shouldn't need to glyph abilities to enjoy controls that should be in the game from the very beginning. There's no excuse for having a shitty control system when the game is being touted as an action-mmo. Period.

And they'll lose a lot of potential players who don't realize these glyphs exist, try the game, get annoyed with the system and log out for good.

U've got to be kidding me. Its freaking amazing, i played the Korean version and it was stunning, no MMO that is out can compare to it yet. THe environment os pure awesome. U play to level 10 and say shit about a game that you clearly never intended to play it seems. Having a shitbox of a PC might be the reason why most of those are problems to you.

The graphics might be based on the fact that it's still beta.  The graphics has been one of the few areas folks haven't normally complained about.

Well I dont give a shit myself and really im rather just happier that the less WoW players that come here with their issues that you cant run and hit and jump and spin at the same time...

Also you easily level up in TERA so getting to the point with glyphs shouldnt be that hard and really not a dealbreaker.

Instead of mashing hotkeys over and over, you are spamming mouse clicks.. From the videos I have watched, there was little to no strategy at all and most players just sit there and absorb the attacks from enemies while spamming away until it dies, rinse and repeat.. The world is nice, but even Vindictus required a little more "skill" (I use that term very loosely when talking about MMO's and taking into consideration the fan base) when in combat having a block and dodge being pretty important in many battles..

I'm going to go ahead and skip this release.. The first "platinum" title in a long long time, but I just can't see myself giving in to another Aion.. Best of luck to the game and all of its followers though..

COMPARED TO the PROMO CLIPS, my graphics on my computer are looking A BIT outdated.

it doesn't look bad, just when playing it seems less detailed then in the promo movies

 

I DIDN4T say GRAPHIX ARE OUTDATED

 

I shouldn't be forcing AA & stuff like that outside the game...

Frame rates can often be a beta issue.  Optimization is probably a ways off, and there's likely a krapload of debug logging going on on your machine.

Far as the controls go?  Beats me.  I haven't played it, yet.  But don't be so quick to give up on it if it's the kind of game you've been looking for.  Post your troubles on the OB's!

Hopefully people actually read into the classes moveset later on before judging about which class is unfair/too slow/too fast/too shitty throughout the tests. Because most of TERAs pvp is at a later level, so lower levels don't matter too much. Regardless I was doing 10v10 deathmatches and didn't find it too unbalanced. If I exposed myself i'd die really quick but if I played right I could get behind someone, get a knockdown and kill them. It's a lot of skill.

 

I dueled an archer(which everyone complains about) 1v1 as a slayer, first time he owned me, second time I managed to dodge his shot, charge at him and get a knockdown. Then I layed a beating using a quick combo and as he tried to disengage I used my ranged attack quckly to kill him before he could get away to kite. Same people, same class, different gear, two totally different outcomes. Depends how you play thus far imo.

1 grafhics during test the fase were not on max

2: casters can't run indeed while casting.. some spells do tho..

3: your playing to test the game.. which means server testing or whatever..

 

Bacisly 2 point you adrress should not be equal to the release..

 

I found the combat very fun to play.. but im pvp fan.. which means tera ain't for me..

 

Pve is enjoyable tho

Then I layed a beating using a quick combo and as he tried to disengage I used my ranged attack quckly to kill him before he could get away to kite. Same people, same class, different gear, two totally different outcomes. Depends how you play thus far imo.

I was talking to my friends and we all come to a conclusion. What you said is not going to happen lol. If a player can't win, it is 100% inbalance, not his/her skills :)

       Really, the game is that poorly balanced? Wow, cancelled pre-order, screw this game.

Warrior swings sword while running around. Archer shoots while moving. Sorcerer too.

Some classes have to stand while casting, but that is gameplay of that specific class.

Play Warrior if you want fast, hit and run - pwn class

 

- Framedrops now and then: can't be my computer, all setting to high, good hardware and still performance issues :(

 

Either server lag during beta, or your PC

 

These 3 points, especially the standing-still-while-casting (even instants) make me wait to pre-order the game i've been waiting for so long.

Anyone else experiencing the same issues ?
