I have a friend who collects all sorts of Star Wars memorabilia, and apparantly it's worth more if it's never opened. Apparantly with Star Wars stuff its best to never try to enjoy it. All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick. |

Yea but with boxes and boxes and boxes of CEs EASILY available at most stores (in STACKS) there really IS no value. Even worse for collecting purposes is that the game REQUIRES you to have connections to their servers which means you won't even be able to have an x-wing esque of installing it 20 years from now on your new Windows 42 system. |

I know quite a few people in my guild alone who would love to get their hands on one. Star Wars and Transformers have some of the biggest toy collectors in the world. If you ever have anything Star Wars or Transformers just leave it in it's packaging. And wait a few years. Consider it an investment. |

People were selling the statue alone for $100 around launch.
Not sure if you can still get that, but might be worth it to look. That would pretty much offset the CE part, and maybe you'll play the game some day. My live Stream:www.twitch.tv/dubyahite

My condolences. I really regret having bought the CE. Not because I dislike the game more and more, but because the value is close to zilch. An action figure I don't like, a soundtrack which is not symphonic and some REALLY lame and useless ingame items. What a waste!

I never ever EVER buy the collector's edition for ANY video game. I have yet to find one that's actually worth it. |

Yea, all these people spouting off about being collectible. This requires it to have LIMITED quantity. With the surplus of these CEs available, there is no limit thus nothing driving the price. The initial price hike was due to the launch limited availability. The CE book was nice. The in game stuff was garbage. I have the statue out on my desk but it's job right now is to hold down the skylanders stickers so my kid doesn't just go ape and sticking them all over the house. If I could do it over again... but I was preordered on day 1 and with all the problems I wasn't going to jinx it. 7 years from now, the CE will have NO VALUE if the servers are not up. It's not like a good comic book or a toy where there is innate value. There isn't. This is mass produced, made in china, junk. Just look at Pawn Stars to prove that. There was a girl with an old mac and all games, and was offered like 200 bucks. Another dude had one of those nintendo systems and only pulled 100. And that was in box mint stuff worth MORE than that when they launched. So you're looking at DEVALUATION. Just imagine if you can't even use the game the box is made for. The ONLY reason the WoW CE is in demand is because the items are still usable. For now. When WoW goes away, so to will the value. |

Well, i pre-ordered it and is still in its shipping box. it's true about value this and that, i try to enjoy the things in my life you live only once. games are games to me i spend only what i can afford so it seems at that time i could afford it. so now as i don't have time i was looking for some advice i think i don't even plan on playing it anytime soon(not that i don't want to). i heard about the statue i don't care about the junk that came with it thought for me it's always the game that matters. well i'm leaving it closed for the moment see what the future brings. in that while please leave some more advice it's really appreciated. ps: don't change topic and start a fight about opinions or so, everyone thinks different. |
