Im a hardcore SWTOR/BIO 'fanboi', mk? Have an official forum account created on Oct 08, etc blah blah blah.

Yesterday, hit a massive wall. Ive been waiting for this game and following the Friday updates FOR YEARS, PAID 160 DOLLARS FOR THE CE, AND HAVE LITTLE MORE THEN A MONTHS PLAYTIME TO SHOW FOR IT.

Endgame content, lack of pvp, LACK OF TRACKING SYSTEM FOR PVP KILLS, PVP CODEX PERIOD, IS THE  MAIN REASON.

Im having a harder and harder time loging in. Theres just so little to do. Yeah yeah the story is good. But that only gets you so far.

Alts? Well, party ok. But with the Legacy system being a non existant ingame mechanic, and not likely to be anytime soon, theres little incentive.

I feel like im going thru adolescence again. Between being angry/sad at this, im surprised at how strongly I feel about this game..

Anyone else feeling this?

Whatever happened to the IN BIOWARE WE TRUST signatures?

BTW, I will say this. I just resubbed to RIFT, and that game has undergone a boat load of changes, just outstanding ones.

Starting to play that while weeping and talking to myself. Sobbing uncontrollably.....Rocking back and forth moaning , SWTOR OH SWTOR....

I didn't even bother with ToR. I unsubbed Rift and WoW. I miss EQ, but am leaving that game alone with the memories. I played the hell out of Skyrim and think I'm done. Tried Runescape (99 Woodcutting :)) and it was fun, but the median player age is 5. Played DDO (Level 18), but that game drains your credit card majorly. Now, I'm just a lonely soul waiting for the ultimate MMO that will probably never happen. I'm kinda hyped about Everquest Next if it actually happens. Just worried they will go the Rift/WoW/ToR route.

give it some time, and they will make it nearly on par with WoW in terms of features.

All I can say is many of us stated this long before the game even came out, but I guess people have to make thier own mistakes.

Trion just keeps getting it right, while BioWare has yet to prove that it can make significant improvements in an already launched game.

Still playing it for now, would be worthy to come back to with needed updates, and content...we'll see.

As for sandbox games that are available, my cat is putting them to thier best purpose. Most needed new game type, there is no doubt.

Story in ANY game is only good for 1 go around. 1 playthrough. Thats it.

MMO's shouldnt be focused on individual stories. It should be focused on creating a mythology/general overarcing story. The player character then creates their own personal story by being a part of that world.

SWTOR's focus on all this individual storylines and V/O's which take up huge amounts of resources and time will bury this game.

I beleive in life before death... So dont forget to enjoy it while you still can.

Move on and never look back,,.... enjoy a game as long as it lasts...and then move on to something different... Or back to a game you still like.

Its just silly to get upset because of a game.. personally i enjoyed 40 of the 50 levels, which is quite a lot for me.

Currently i am a super hero in DCUO.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package)
Worst MMO experience : FF XIV
Waiting for : GW2

According to you post history I'm supprised you ever subbed. You were disapointed way back in november. As for me I love it, ther is enough story and game here to last me conservitivly another 6-9 months This is a game focused on more casual players and server pops actually seem to be growing despite bioware's best efforts to drive us away. Seriously, these posts are pointless. Find the game that suits you and help it grow. No one really cares that this isn't the sandbox you were hoping for.

You are the main reason, not the story.

You are looking for gratification inside the game giving you "points" for what you do. That belongs to wow, not swtor.

Why dont you flip a mindswitch and actually just *do* the things you mentioned

- go pvp

- go open world pvp

who cares about *tracking* pvp or *lack of pvp* ? there is tons of pvp in this game, from  level 24 and upwards. Just do not expect rewards for it other then the rewards of pvping yourself. Your problem is not in missing stuff to do, but being rewarded in doing it. Thats just wrong.

That is a MAJOR breaking point in SW:TOR.

The forced progressing through your own storyline sounds great and it's fun! ...........until you hit a bug in your main storyline and cannot continue.

If you have bad luck and have your ticket answered with auto response and closed. It means you are forced to shelve your character, because you can't continue.

This has happened to a lot of people.  It happened to me on my Trooper yesterday, only I was lucky to get actual help from an ingame GM for once. Lot of other people were not so fortunate.

It's understandable that they don't want people to be able to Abandon Main story quests, but at least a reset option should be included in case you bug out.

i still like it

it's a perfect casual MMO with optional but fun grouping

hated rift for being so soul-less

SWTOR however has a lot going for it. it's the small things in general that make it fun

The day i start getting so upset and angry over a video game.. i know its time to step away from PC for a very long time. Couple of months in and even Rift will frustrate you to no end.

Bull.  So playing a human is WoW is only good once?

MMO's shouldnt be focused on individual stories. It should be focused on creating a mythology/general overarcing story. The player character then creates their own personal story by being a part of that world.

Bull.  Story can be just as much a part of an MMO as any other feature.  Especially when there are 8 completely different class story lines, branching quest lines, etc.

SWTOR's focus on all this individual storylines and V/O's which take up huge amounts of resources and time will bury this game.

Bull.  BioWare's focus on class quests is far outnumbered by the other generic quests in this game.  Plus, each level range has more than enough leveling content so that most quests, other than the personal story, could be skipped for 2 out of 3 characters.

That is a MAJOR breaking point in SW:TOR.

 Bull.  Answered above for clarification.

The forced progressing through your own storyline sounds great and it's fun! ...........until you hit a bug in your main storyline and cannot continue.

I have seen this particular argument now several times and yet, never found the bug in the game itself.  One of those times someone actually had claimed to have just stopped playing the game due to a bug at a certaqin mission about three minutes before writing the post.  About five minutes later I logged in, did two missions and bam, get hit by the bug myself.  except that it wasn't a bug, it was a clearly stated mission step that he had ignored.  So much for the bug.  Not saying this is every case, but I can't help but feel it is the majority of them.

If you have bad luck and have your ticket answered with auto response and closed. It means you are forced to shelve your character, because you can't continue.

OR, if it is actually a bug and not your own fault, you can always try dropping the mission and redoing it.  Nice little feature that.  Strangely enough, I have used it a few times now to restart missions just because the fights were so fun.

This has happened to a lot of people.  It happened to me on my Trooper yesterday, only I was lucky to get actual help from an ingame GM for once. Lot of other people were not so fortunate.

I think I answered this one already.

Money in politics is the root of all political evil. It is corruption at it's worst.

2/08/12 3:25:09 AM#18

I think people need to come to the realization that SW:TOR has a beginning (lvl 1) and an end (lvl 50). The game does not seem to be designed to keep playing at level 50 but rather the two choices you have is either reroll or quit.

More over the game is not a PvP centered game and will always get a backseat to PvE.

I don't think either of those are opinions but rather facts and if people accept those facts they would be less dissapointed. That does not mean I agree with those two aspects of the game (I don't) but it is what it is.

In my case it WAS a bug you !!!

On my particular mission I was caught of guard to all the suicide bomber droids and got insta killed. When I respawned I was stuck on the mission, as I still had to kill the droids, but the event didn't restart!

Relogging, going out and back into the instance didn't help.

And as it's a Storyline Class mission, you CAN NOT abandon nor reset it. So YES you're screwed and stuck and can't continue!

Like I said in my own opened topic, I was very lucky yesterday to get an actual GM ingame helping me out. But a lot of other people were less fortunate (as there were no GM's the first month) and got shoved off with auto responses and closing of tickets.

So if it had happened to me a a couple weeks back, I would have been pretty much screwed and forced to shelve my favorite MAIN character and pray for a fix. Which more likely would have resulted in canceling of my sub and quiting the game! As I am not gonna pay a sub, when I cannot play my favorite MAIN character.

Seriously! Some of you people are EXTREMELY selfish and egocentric! " If it ain't happen to me, there ain't a problem! "

/facepalm !
