I may just be a nut to think a 3 yr old will enjoy anything since he will not get to mash my keyboard to play, but I'd like some idea's anyways. I am looking to have a game him and I play just to bond a little more. I get that most parents like to say their kid is advanced in a lot of things, but mine is when it comes to things like this. If you think I'm a nut post that with a game suggestion. I wont get offended I just want idea's. |

The single player lego games for the computer, there are lots of theme's and should be very easy for him to pick up with a little help from dad. Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries... |

I have a three year old who sits on my lap while I play. He likes FPS games where I make a noise when I shoot and he makes fun of me when I die, games like BlackOps. He likes SWTOR, we make a special noise everytime I use the mortar round and while I run around he spams the spacebar. He also likes the space part and I have him point out the enemy ships before I shoot them. He also likes driving the mounts in MMO's, I have a giant turtle thing in Rift and he loves driving that thing down the road and making it jump.
There is a site with free flash games called kizi-dot-com that he likes and he can actually play some of those games. I also find he likes the clone wars and marvel super hero squad. He likes the cartoon graphics and likes to tell me what to do with his guy. Another one we play together is Minecraft. Him and my 6 year old are nuts about that one. I run three accounts and host the server so we can all play. He likes to run around my house and mess it up or sit on map and tell me what to build.
Hope that helps. Have fun! No offense, but if you haven't hit 50 by now, you kinda are less of a player - Cthulhu23 The very idea that SV is in financial trouble is wrong. The numbers they release from time to time are just that, numbers. -Username509 |

Thanks for the replies everyone!
We do play MInecraft together, since that happens to be my current game addiction. I've tried a couple of my first mmo's; Runescape (bleh) and Conquer Online. Niether really grabbed his attention which is one of the reason I posted in the first place. I would like to try and find a game that he enjoys because it's his character, but also a game that I don't mind playing at the same time. I updated DDO and we will be trying that with in the next couple days but I doubt he'll get into a game like that.

Maybe freerealms? 3 year old might be a little young for that generally but Mozart did write symphonies when he was 3 so you probably know better than me. |

Originally posted by NBlitz That was my first thought, too. Simple enough that the kid might have some idea of what is going on, but complicated enough and good enough to keep the adult entertained, too. Another possibility is A Tale in the Desert. There's no combat, so your kid could run around without getting into any trouble. The game is very amenable to just standing there for long periods of time, rather than saying, you have to do something right now or else you'll die. There are lots of different things to do, so you might manage to find something he likes and can do. |

I had a lot of fun playing Disney's Toontown with my daughter when she was young. It's a pretty easy game, but it's amusing and entertaining to play. No cash shop on top of subscription for this one (if I'm remembering correctly). Wizard 101 is also a great game that has already been mentioned. The card game like combat is fun. This one has a cash shop on top of subscription. I believe it's pretty much fluff items, but kids will definitely want them. Free Realms is a bit more complex, aimed more at the tween audience I think. It was more fun back before they redid all of the combat. It used to actually be hard and require a bit of strategy when it first released. There is a cash shop on top of the monthly sub for this one as well. Primarily fluff type items. There may be some useable items in this cash shop as well. Pretty sure they added a lifetime sub option to this one. Not having to worry about a monthly sub payment is kind of nice. Regardless of which game you end up playing, gaming with your kid is fun! :P |

I'm having a lot of fun with Spiral Knights, myself. Really fun, easy to pick up, easy to play but difficult to master.
Fun! |

Bonding? Get a console (Wii) with two controllers, but if you're looking to introduce him to 'virtual worlds' and not just 'games'... um, I would like to say Free Realms. It's got a lot of diversions and such, and I even found it fun (pushing late-20's) for being as simple as it is. Crafting is fun as hell... the first couple times. Lots of puzzle-games that = loot, good stuff. Though; proper warning, this game has some serious need of Chris Hansen. Creepy, creepy people play it... so don't let your kid's avatar out of your sight. It might end up kidnapped *kek*. Writer / Musician / Game Designer Now Playing: Skyrim, Wurm Online, Tropico 4 |

Come on guys..Wizards101?
My Dad played games with me when I was 3 too. We played (and beat) Diablo 2. I loved it. Honestly, play that with your son. It's not too bloody or scary. People think kids are so innocent these days. I am 16 years old and it hasn't fucked me up. If anything, it made me less queasy with that kind of thing. Then when Diablo 3 comes out you can play that too.
If you do play games with your son as he grows up, know that he will become a raging gamer. I honestly wish I hadn't been raised playing games all my life. I spent a whole summer on WoW everyday with minimal social interaction. I have more online friends than real-life friends. I really wish it wasn't this way, but it is. |

If it doesn't have to be a mmo, try Portal/(co-op). Should be a good brain workout. Maybe to hard for a 3yo logically, but it's very simple to play. If he starts to get the idea of how to play it, it could do wonders. I'd say it's worth a shot. |

Free Ralms and Minecraft are two games that might be freeform enough and easy enough to control for a kid that age to control and, more importantly, to enjoy.

Minecraft has a high resolution "4Kids" texture mod that has all the animals looking 'cute'. You can also play the game on a mode where the monsters don't come out at night. The game is pretty free form. The crafting is more visual than other games, so it might even be possible for your son to make new stuff. You and your son could also play on the same server (yours) at the same time. Join the League For Gamers. |
