I guess the security key is a great option if you are ultra-worried about online security.  Its more of an annoyance to me, personally.  

I got the collectors edition which unfortunately came with a security key and now I am stuck having to dig the dang thing out every time I want to play.  So far I can't find an option to opt-out of it.  Does anyone know if there is an option to do so once you have activated your security key?

The only way right now is to call their support.

maybe they add the opt out option later?. Best way to ensure security is not giving away your info or putting your pc at risk with some websites and adds.... but the security key is a good layer of security. I got it for WoW, Swtor, and Rift activated so whenever i resub for any of those im all set

I'm not saying I think its a bad feature, I think its a great feature, I just wish it was an option.

Beat me to it. I was wondering myself why you chose to tie the key to your account if you were just going to complain about it.

That's a fair question.  The answer is the game edition I purchased (collectors edition) came with a secuirty key and I wasn't given the option NOT to use it.  

I'm not trying to just complain about the feature, I'm trying to find a way to do something about a game function that I would like to change, if I can change it.  I appologize if you see that as a complaint.

i have a CE and the security key is sitting in the pretty box the rest of the stuff came in. AFAIK the ony way to link the key to your account was to do it manually. Its not something that was required when setting up your account even if you  had a CE key.

note: call customer support and have them remove disable your security key feature. They'll ask some questions and what not but once thats over you won't need to use the key anymore. 

But but but you get access to the special vendor!!!

Thanks Synn, I'll give that a try.  It will be nice to not have to use that anymore.
