Don't worry, this game is designed to reach the lowest common denominator, not niche markets. |

star trek is horrible.. perpetuum is a rts game so didn't interest me and STO is better game that battle star since battle star isn't even a MMO http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/339443/Video-FollowUp-Guide-For-Enhancing-Graphics-and-Performance-in-SWTORSorry-still-Nvidia-Only.html |

Originally posted by sanosukex I feel you. There are sci-fi MMOs on the horizon. Firefall, Defiance, Wildstar (sorta) to name a few. Don't weep for Tor not being you go-to game. It's Star Wars, not sci-fi. I've been experiencing a strange ambivalence about the game. It's too fantasy-like to make me want to play but when I do play I lose myself in the story for 2 hours or so. I feel a bit dirty afterwards and have to play some borderlands to make the taste go away. I think it's growing on me. Literally. There is NO miracle patch. 95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch. Hope is not a stategy. |

Just out of curiosity, what MMOs are you actually playing and enjoying right now? The End |

Originally posted by sanosukex Its not that odd. He explains in great detail why he like PVP in SWTOR. He has a good key binding guide for it too.
My main point to my comment is that I don't like over generalization. There are plently of PVPers playing TOR. Even the leets. Especially now that the ability delay has been resolved. |

Originally posted by dougmysticey it is odd because a lot of what he complained about in rift pvp all of a sudden he likes in swtor pvp like how CC works in each game and several other things.. he was also a big advocate of making builds in Rift no one thought of and always said it was such a great part of rift and now he moves to a talent tree system with almost zero flexability.. guess whatever floats his boat:P http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/339443/Video-FollowUp-Guide-For-Enhancing-Graphics-and-Performance-in-SWTORSorry-still-Nvidia-Only.html |

Originally posted by Dirtbag99 My point exactly, Skyrim is a perfect example of what many of todays modern MMOs should shoot for before thinking themselves as MMOs. I can see SWTOR being a great game as a 1-4 player game. |

Originally posted by DarSepki That is basically how I am playing it. My wife and three-five real life friends are playing it together and having an absolute blast. But I can totally see how it would be more difficult to make friends/contacts etc if you came into this game with a blank slate. It lacks a lot of MMO social aspects, at least lacks the need to use them. You could solo this game from beginning to end, minus FPs and OPs, but you would do yourself a disservice in doing so. A coop skyrim, not MMO, but 2-4 players in a persistent, savable world would really be all I ever needed. It could replace MMOs for me completely at this point. |

I agree entirely with the last poster. The game is good but I unsubbed because the community was pretty immature (no worse than other MMOs but still enough to ruin any type of immersion). If they has an adult only server or something, I might re-sub as I liked the story aspect. I found myself shutting off general chat most of the time as the stupid lightsaber to the knee jokes were annoying. |

Originally posted by Vedra It really doesn't matter how many people are "playing" vs "susbscribed." It's really not a figure that means anything to anybody. But, with the advent of WOW and their press releases, some gamers came in and decided to dissect every detail to find a weakness and paint positive news into negative press. Simply put, the "I don't care what their numbers say. Who is playing right this minute?" people are bringing up something that was never brought up prior to WOW, not because they are inherently more observant than others. No, they bring this up because they will go so far as to mention something irrelevant just to try to back their opinion. Aside from that, EA changed its stock name on the Nasdaq on Dec 20th, making it a little harder to find. As discussed in another thread, the stocks went down, but now they are on an uphill trend again after the 1.7 million active subscriber press release. So no, the whole decline that the OP is talking about does not exist. "The keys are in your hands. Realize you are sole creator... of your own madter plan" - Dimmu Borgir, Gateways |

Originally posted by DarSepki Due to the way leveling is in Skyrim and how mobs scale to whatever level you are in the game. Skyrim could NEVER be an MMO for that fact alone.
Also I don't really see how GW2 is going to be any better if what you want is a more opened experiance akin to that of Skyrim. |

Originally posted by Snaylor47Originally posted by DarSepkiOriginally posted by Dirtbag99 I agree with Snaylor47, but I can not help but wish the mobs DID scale like some SPRG games I have played. It would definately make "going back" to the earlier worlds more fun. "If half of what you tell me is a lie, how can I believe any of it?" |

WoW has about a 30% retention rate of players. Which means if Bioware has around 600k or so players after the "mass exodus" all the trolls keep trying to make people believe is true then Bioware is still a huge success when you put it up against the other industry standard right now. They have already made their production cost back on box sales and it is honestly just patches and advertising money from here till xpac. Don't think you really have to worry about them caving. |

well said 100% agree not had much fun since we lost precu swg . The game just needed bug fixing and some themepark stuff added for the players that like that stuff. And it would have been doing ok now in my opinion . |
