When people come to your forum and provide and link with misleading quotes below it, please, do not stand up and post other threads across the forums verifying this information to be true. Did anyone even read the "link"?
Original link;
SWTOR in fact does ***NOT*** have 1.7 million *active* subscribers. The only people even foolish enough to believe this are the people that havent played the game to see what a total and clear dissapointment filled buggy lag ridden mess this game truely is.
When someone posts a link in a thread and then adds a few quotes under neath the link, please, read the link. It doesnt take a genious to see that 75% of the totals that even have EA stock above water are from BF and FIFA12.
My last comment; This game, SWTOR, will end up doing many 25+ years and older gamers a huge favor. You see, we are the only ones that were around when games had true innovation and community. The recycled junk we've repeatedly been fed over the last 8 years are *not* MMORPGs. WoW is more of an MMO than SWTOR, and that says something.
You people clearly do not see these games are single player games with very, very few multiplayer mechanics. I can any single one of you praise this game i have no idea. I have never seen a AAA mmo released with the problems this game has. There are VERY specific reasons SWTOR is sharded up and instanced every 3 feet. Thats because this game cannot handle even a medium crowd, much less a larger crowd in one area. Thats why when you enter warzones you; 1. Ability delay 2. Skill lag 3. Half of the people listed on the left of your screen ARE NOT EVEN IN THE SAME WARZONE AS YOU. 4. Clicking a skill key, when there are zero lag or large combat anywhere near, and at least 20% of the time the skills dont even function. They do not go off. Zip. Zilch. Nodda. 5. 100% phased from the time you enter to world till the time you leave. This is because they dont want other players messing up your single player experience. Hello.....? At a minimum, 80% of this game is phased, cinematic and plain boring with zero other players around unless you knew them in real life and coordinated playing together before hand. 6. Oodles and oodles of content removed in the very, very short time frame between beta and live. We are talking full areas, hundreds of items suits of gear, weapons, mods. Everything removed. Vanished. Why? This will be released to you later for sure, except it will have a pricetag.
and last but not least....
8. The "kindergarten" esque changes and decisions these guys make. Do you really want me to start a list of these things? I can copy paste but what good will it do?
I have never been more dissapointed with anything i was "looking forward to" in my life. From one side to the other this game is a total and absolute failure. This game has been designed as P2P at release, to get full box sales and a few subs and instantly it will go F2P. The F2P has already been designed. Hell, they even have the content already to go. It was pulled before live out of beta.
And...
Every single major issue this game has was discovered and reported not last month, not last quarter, not even last year. 2++++++ years ago almost every single complaint was brought up that created threads worth hundreds and hundreds of pages long. Absolutely all of it was ignored. And you want to praise and pay for this peice of shit?
Honestly, if you like the game i hope you enjoy yourself. But if you really are satisfied with this steaming pile of shit, at the same time, i feel sorrow for you.
Remember, read the links. Stop spreading misinformation. SWTOR does NOT have 1.7 million active players. Poor, poor sheeple.
Edit; because i wrote COD instead of BF on accident, apologies. The link provided should clear any mistake on my behalf. Apologize.
Look you people can flame me all you like. Like i said before, if you truely enjoy this game, truely, i wish you the best. Myself? Not even close to satisfied. Too many reasons to list, hell i didnt cover half of them in the OP. Once again, sorry for mistake. Edited. |

Hmmm, all I saw was you bashing SWTOR. You do not talk once about how you know that they don't have 1.7 million subscribers.
I think the title is misleading, it should have been: "Here is another same old thread about someone who doesn't like SWTOR" |

you saved me a lot of work my friend was putting something similar together but you summed it up well.. +1 http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/339443/Video-FollowUp-Guide-For-Enhancing-Graphics-and-Performance-in-SWTORSorry-still-Nvidia-Only.html |

So by you not liking the game means it does not have x amount of subscribers? Brilliant. |

listing your complaints about TOR doesn't do anything to invalidate EA's report. |

Have you even read the marketwatch article? Please do so. Dont just believe its true because someone posted a link and has zero understanding of stockholders, stock value, or the economy. You are very, very foolish. |

Sticking your fingers in your ears and yelling "I can't hear you!" does not a convincing argument make. |

Read the actual Marketwatch article please. Once again, they do NOT, repeat do NOT have 1.7 million paid and subscribed players.
99% out of 100% of *AAA* MMOs require you to enter your payment information upon account creation.
1.7 million total accounts created. Not 1.7 million subscribers. Sorry, not to be rude, but read the article. |

I think you may be moving from denial into anger. Next comes bargaining. |

Now THIS is an example of a straw man.
Thanks. Edit: to be clear, you are not addressing the actual discussion, you are not even addressing the topic you listed, you instead go and invalidate your own argument by discussing the content of the game. That is misdirection, or in arguing its called dah dah dahhhh a straw man argument. You created your straw man (the arguement about SW:TOR's content) and then defeated it (self proclaimed victory) there by making you "win" the topic sentance, even though it doesn't relate at all.

Originally posted by tristanryan I read both EAs report and your original post. Screaming about things that bug you about TOR does nothing to invalidate EA's claims. They did not say there were 1.7 mil accounts created, they said there were 1.7 million accounts active, and that includes folks in their first month and that there are more people paying their subs now than there are in their first month. |

I absolutely positively cannot wait either. I was so hyped for this game. You can even see it in my post history. I was one of the fanbois flaming the haters when in actuality, the "haters" were experienced beta players telling the truth all along. Shame on me. |

Of course SWTOR doesn't have anywhere near 1.7 million subs.
"now has about 1.7 million active subscribers playing the online multiplayer title, which Brown said represents a mix of users who already have signed up for a paid subscription and users who have given their credit cards over, but have not yet had their paid plans kick in."
And it was further confirmed that the 1.7 million number was bogus when they stated that a majority of the 1.7 were people actually paying for a subscription. A majority is anything bigger than 51 percent. So SWTOR has maybe 850 thousand to maybe a million subs. About the same number as WAR had after its first month. |

Actually, it was over 2 million accounts created. And actually it's down to 1.7 million subscribers now. So actually, maybe you should read your own link.
