From Avaaz.org "Last week, 3 million of us beat back America's attack on our Internet! --- but there is an even bigger threat out there, and our global movement for freedom online is perfectly poised to kill it for good.
Also, check this... Polish parliament, don Guyd Fawkes masks in opposition to ACTA...... http://www.tvn24.pl/0,2497368,0,0,1,1,,poslowie-palikota-w-sejmie-pap,galeriamax.html
Really hope MMORGP.com doesn't take this down, people need to know. I take what I want, when I want it. |

Yeah I only found out about this the other day myself. My old Polish housemate Facebooked me some info on it. They are really trying to sneak it in. Not a lot of people over here are even aware of it. |

It's all going to the dogs in Europe anyways. I'm just itching to see how they're going to enact this crap here. I have an inkling there's going to be some serious riots when cops come to some unemployed greek guy's house and try to arrest him for dowloading some crummy EA video game or an american mini-series. He'll put bullets in them. If they cut him off internet, he'll visit the provider with a machine gun. People are on the edge here and brussels beuros are piling this shit on us... Europe might have sold its freedom to bruxelles but we don't like it. They're walking a very thin line... "bread and games." The bread is pretty much gone and now they want to mess with our games? Baaaad move. |

I don't know if I have it in me to fight for human freedom again by doing absolutely nothing.
SOPA kind of left me drained.

Genocides, terrorism, countries hacking and stealing each other's secrets, war, famine, etc., etc., etc....And the thing governments around the world are concerned about is what...pirated mp3s? Really? I'm amazed at how hard they hit something of such little importance, compared to how slow the world is to act when there is actual, human suffering. Pirating is wrong, no getting around that, but until not a person under your power is living in squalor and poverty, Hollywood and the entertainment industry in general need to take a back seat and get some perspective.

Many goverments in EU signed treaty today BUT it still need to be ratified by national parlaments of ALL EU countiries then by EU Parliment.
I am from Poland and there is quite a bit outrage at ACTA atm.
There were even demonstrations on wensday and today in some cities.
Some cities had small demonstrations (few hundread ppl each), few cities had 1000 up to 5000 ppl demonstrating and biggest was in former historical capital Cracow that had about 10 000 - 15 000 people (depending on a source ) demonstrating on wensday against ACTA. Biggest demonstration movies from Cracow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpJ6Zxzy-L0 <--- better movie but in Polish only http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NqWyBOxA3Y&feature=related <-- more calm moments but with some english subtitles
I am also against ACTA - this is law that profits companies and IMO they have enough advantage over citizens atm. Enough!

It wouldn't be the first time the powers that be have tried that particular tactic. But you are right. This won't be over until they have more control. These bills/acts are going to keep coming and when we get complacent is when they win. I'm off to get my tinfoil hat now and sit in the corner ;) |

Originally posted by slickbizzle Funny thing is, doing nothing but blowing it up all over the internet actually helps a lot, making the politicians aware of our discontentment makes them see how bad an idea it is to take the freedom away from people. And if people doesn't keep bringing it up, time and time again, then it will get passed at some point, because the bills will keep coming under new titles and new forms. I take what I want, when I want it. |

Fire is the ultimate protest tool. Show they your disdain for their policy by torching something! "I am not in a server with Gankers...THEY ARE IN A SERVER WITH ME!!!" |
