kruc3fix actually posted something along this line of a New MMO Mixing RTS building with MMORPG to create a community loyal to its own community Example: 1) Multiple Villages in the Game world ( ie. 50 ) 2) Each village holds 100 players ( as it levels and upgrades the cap increases, allowing new players to join ) 3) Players in each village quests and crafts to increase its village to towns to Capitals ( the more hardcore you are the better the village does, but one person can only do so much ) 4) promoting Village Guilds that focuses on specific areas 5) Village VS Villages for materials, for kills, and can be looted ( but they can spent money to hire guards ) 6) Villages can set up alliances with other Villages 7) when villages gets abandoned, they can be absorbed and protected by other Capitals 8) Players starts as Peons, and the involvements of players increases its rank to eventually having a say in how the village is running 9) Give Villages a certain Direction in growth ( Steampunk, Cyberpunk, Fantasy directions , Defense, offense technology , Artistic, Millitary growth all based on Votes of the majority ) 10) Allowing players to abandon their village if the direction isn't what they want I just figure that this will Eliminate all the problems currently Plaguing MMO's out there, where when the game started, you have millions of players and Developers tries to even out the starting areas by adding ques , but when villages are capped to 100 players each, all they have to do is add more villages. And when they are abandoned, they get absorbed by Bigger Capitals. Village vs Village promotes PVP since there is only so much resources, and each village tries to take them for themselves. Town uses Town building resources, and village uses Village buillding resources, so only griefers will be where the village resources are when they are in bigger towns. To promote same level PVP. When you start as Peons, and grown in stature, it allows players to get noticed in their community. And Alliances allows friends to play with eachother, when you have the option to move to another village. Giving Village a Direction to grown allows freedom and different growth for different players. Please note that I haven't play all the MMO thats available, so if someone already thought of this idea and this is already in a game somewhere in the world. Just list the game's name and people can check it out. Just trying to post some ideas that maybe someday someone read it and likes it if its supported by the community. Shadowbane.....mega village takes over...lots of people leave...game dwindles... You need to come up with an idea that does not piss people off as to how a mega village or group of villages does not take over a server. |

Interesting thought, But because Shadowbane did something similiar now we can prevent a similar event from happening. For example, inorder to become a capital, it needs a certain number of Village to be alliance with it. And to become a mega City, it needs a certain number of Capitals to support it. So in case a single Capital becomes too strong, its the community that make it so. Then you can have cross Cities to battle each other to become Nations. And Cross Nations to battle to become Global Powers....etc Life is a Maze, so make sure you bring your GPS incase you get lost in it. |
