Funcom- Not owned by EA, EA is the publisher for TSW just like they are publishing Kingdoms of Amalur, but the game isn't owned by EA. I don't think EA published AoC but maybe. Mythic- EA only took ownership of Mythic towards the end. The game already destined to be a disaster before EA got involved. EA's fault is that they trusted Mythic and didn't check on development, thus letting the game release too early, then refused to put additional funds into the game. Bioware- Owned by EA for the entire term of development I believe, so Swtor is the only game that fits the OP's EA conspiracy theory. Too much money spent on the wrong things, coupled with an incompetent PR team.
Bioware still has time to fix Swtor Mythic is defunct, and WAR destined to close unless it goes f2p Funcom seems to have learned some lessons, but lacks the funds to adequately support two AAA games. I expect TSW to launch much better than AoC, while AoC stays on life support. |

As said before, EA is only in a partnership with Funcom to publish and distribute The Secret World. They have nothing to do with Age of Conan or any of the other Funcom games. And EA certain does NOT own Funcom. Look OP, I'm not a fan of EA either but they have nothing to do with AoC whatsoever. You need to come up with a different example to provide slander against EA. |

Originally posted by I_Return Buddy FunCom doesn't need anyone's help, much less EA's in making another failed MMO. They got that part down pat. Also it's FunCom lol. Doesn't matter what they make. Or who owns them. Or who publishes them. Just don't buy it. I know I won't no matter what it looks like until its been out at least 6 months and I have read about 5 million player reviews. Since that is far to much effort... yeah It's FunCom = PASS. |

For me, the warning bells for TOR are ringing even louder, earlier than they did with the other two games mentioned. What is sad is that if the story elements, cutscenes and voice acting had been paired with a solid MMORPG, this game could have had legs. However, take away those elements and TOR is a very mediocre, (at best), MMORPG that not only feels stale, but seems to have borrowed the worst of other titles, rather than the best. The game might have had solid potential with a non-subscription business model, but asking people to pay a subscription fee to play an RPG just doesn't seem viable. TOR actually works as an RPG, while failing at being an MMORPG. That's the problem here. Want to know more about GW2 and why there is so much buzz? Originally posted by Vato26 Don't confuse the Op with facts. he obviouslty doesn't have a strong grasp of facts to begin with As So far from every graphical site i've been able to find reaction to SW:tor has been positive with the understandalbe number of haters fearing their game (wowo, rift, eve, GW2, etc) will wind up dry. the moast recent hater big to do was EA/bioware following their TOS and banning a 12 year that admitted he was 12 on the board. (Oh yes thats terrible!) Funny the kid came here QQ about it. Seriously the haters are alot of fun if somewhat pathetic in their lame attempts. Its not just a SW:tor thing of course they were there for rift, and wow, and will be there when GW2 comes out. Some just can't help themselves and love to hate or basically if they can't have fun in a game no one else should be able to either so it must be destroyed. (you'd think they'd make great sith considering : )) |
