Originally posted by davidemo89 The "Veteran Reward" was brought up on this forum first by GMTHEA in response to the continued complaints that SV failed to deliver what they sold to folks that ordered the boxed version of the game and never received the updated DVDs/CDs that were sold and promised.
As someone who originally pre-ordered the boxed version of the game, and subsequently received a chargeback from the credit card due to non-delivery, I am naturally interested in this issue.
Maybe we can stay focused on the actual issue and not other posters though.
GMTHEA said on these very forums that they would implement this as compensation for those who did not get what they were sold. He said it would be a week or so... he said he would keep updating the community. HE (not I) specifically staked the credibility of himself and his company on that fact.
8 weeks later.. thread deleted... no compensation provided. No update provided except for a short response (in reply to the linked thread) that he would get an update... over a week ago.
"I should point out that no other company has shipped out a beta on a disc before this." - Official Mortal Online Lead Community Moderator Starvault's reponse to criticism related to having a handful of players as the official "test" team for a supposed MMO: "We've just have another 10ish folk kind enough to voulenteer added tot the test team" (SIC) This explains much about the state of the game :-) |

I've never seen it. If they deleted it there were some problems. |

If you watch a game, it’s fun. If you play it, it’s recreation. If you work at it, it’s FF-XIV. |

I find it funny how all the people that don't play the game anymore or have never played it are trying to make such a big deal out of these veteran rewards when people who actually play the game don't care about them...we want the new expansion and more polish not some stupid fluff items. |

Theia said this was about winning back the trust and confidence of disaffected customers specifically so it absolutely involves us. That's why he made the announcement here first, in direct response to questions and concerns put forward here . If you have no problem getting ripped off, why are you in this thread is a more germane question.

Hopefully we don't give a few on these forums a reason to try and get this thread closed. I'm actually very interested in a response from Thea considering that he/she staked his and SV's reputation on these vet rewards being delivered. |

I'm a vet who would rather see one bug fixed than get a veteran reward. Stupid thread.

People are actually SURPRISED about this shit still? Haven't they realized that this game is slowly and surely dying with all the bad press surrounding the company? |

Originally posted by kakasaki Honestly yes I wouldn't care. The rewards we were probably going to get would be no different then all those stupid pre-order rewards in other MMOs. I care about gameplay more than fluff and that's what they need to work on. That being said I don't think its right to lie to your customers. I think it would have been better for SV to just say they have to postpone them instead of trying to sweep it under the rug...but it just doesn't bother me that much. IMO it seems the only people it really bothers are those who hate the game (ie the majority of this forum) and these people are trying to blow it out of proportion to use it too support their "MO is a scam and awful game" stance and give it bad publicity. |

The defense of this issue really surprises me. You fans of the game keep chanting "we dont want any silly reward" but that is not the issue. The issue is, a representative of SV came here, made claims of something coming into the game and then not only never addressed it again but also tried to hide it by deleting posts. Any chance you fan's of the game could address the actual issue and tell us why you support these kinds of unethical business practices? Do you also support the dev's of the jurrasic park game going to metacrtic and putting in fake reviews to build sales? No offense, but if you haven't hit 50 by now, you kinda are less of a player - Cthulhu23 The very idea that SV is in financial trouble is wrong. The numbers they release from time to time are just that, numbers. -Username509 |

Theia just dipped out because he learned a lesson.... don't believe what Henrik and the devs tell you. And certainly don't stake your credibility on it because you will have none. Just because I'd rather see a bug fixed doesn't mean I give them a pass on not delivering a promise. |

This just in, SV promises something and fails to deliver, news at 11:00.
Really, there's still anyone out there who believes in a SV promise? And I thought innocence was dead. "Just because you aren't paying doesn't mean it's not PTW." - Amaranthar |

Wait, they are just NOW (supposedly) getting around to those who preordered / order physical copies of the game? I remember the disc controversy along with many other things... Cool fact. This is how my package came in the mail when I preordered the special edition of the game (I am a 999).

How about the steel DVD case, the dvds, "art book" and miniatures, lol? I had to hassle them to send me my contents I purchased... |

Originally posted by deathshroud Not everyone did and when Amazon makes a mistake they tend to own up to it. take care of it promptly, appologize and do their best not to make the same mistake again. Can you say that SV handles mistakes this way as well? If not do you think it was even remotely reasonable to compare SV to Amazon in this situation?
SV has not handled this situation well at all at any point. |
