It seems that every other race had a lot of details of their city, why did Asura get left out?
I can't seem to find much footage of it...besides a preview.
Did I miss something? |

I'm sure once NDA drops you'll get a lot of footage.
IMO the preview looks nice, so honestly I would like for the in game to be a surprise so it'll be really refreshing you know? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns-IIn-DG-c Try to argue this please. Oh also if you quote me and it's to argue my point, if I don't respond it means I haven't been corrected by you and/or I haven't seen it. Remember I don't mind admitting I am in the wrong. Take care :D |

I don't know. There's this video of Rata Sum, I don't know if that's the preview you're talking about. I found a similar video about the Grove but nothing really about it during Sylvari week. Those are the two videos linked to in the races section of GW2.com. Perhaps I'm missing something, is there more that you've seen? |

The starter areas for both asura and sylvari weren't available in any of this years demos, I'm afraid the previously posted video of Rata Sum is all we have for now :( |

I think it's because they're hiding the asura stuff, they're not confident of what they've done with it. Rata Sum is essentially the Exodar now, and the asura are basically gnomes. They're a far cry from the asura in Guild Wars 1, that's for sure. They're all giggly, goofy, and silly now. And their reveals have been met with a lot of negativity. So I think they just decided that it would be a good idea not to invite any more negativity. With the asura they really dropped the ball, design-wise. I see WoW more when I look at the asura than with any other race. The WoW is strong with the asura. |

Originally posted by Dream_Chaser I disagree. I really like the Asura and they don't remind me of gnomes at all. Rata Sum looks a hell of a lot cooler than Exodar, and Asura as a race are a lot cooler than anything found in WoW to me. I really don't see it, how are they a far cry from the Asura in Guild Wars 1? Likewise, how are they giggly, goofy, and silly now? From the dialogue portion of Asura week, they seem just as much assholes as they were in the first game. I guess you can see it one way, but I love the race, and will be rolling one as my first character. |

Originally posted by Dream_Chaser While I ain't a Asura fan either (just as I don't like gnomes, comical sidekick races ain't my thing) I don't think that is the reason. You sounds like they are ashamed of them and if they were they wouldhave revamped them like they did to sylvari. I think it is more that they first of all is kinda busy to make the game ready, secondly is it possible that Rata sum isn't 100% complete yet and thirdly because showing off all starting areas before launch isn't that fun, I rather have some surprises left. |

Rata Sum in GW:
Rata Sum 250 years later:
From a hastly built refuge among ruins to a monument to Asuran intellect. In my opinion, it looks remarkably Asuran, not like Exodar (at least what I've seen of it with Google, I haven't played whatever game Exodar is from). |

Catcher has this .. theory about Asura. He sems to be very passionate about it, I'm not sure he's open to opposing arguments. |

Originally posted by Auzy I think he means Dream_Chaser opinion on asura race. He is quite loud about it tbh, and to be frank I've noticed it and just don't pay any atention to his posts because mainly consists of :
A: Trash talking the asura because he doesn't like them B: Putting the furries on a high pedestal
I wouldnt mind his opinion if it wasn't borderline fanatic about. "I am not a robot. I am a unicorn." |
