I'm pretty sure that for the most of us, a MMORPG is not just a game but more like a second home where we like to spent most of our free time in. It's nothing like a normal multiplayer game, it's far more different. That's why "normal" games don't require a montly fee and (most) MMORPG's do. And because it feels as a home we don't mind paying the rent for it, as long as it lives up to our expectations. But what do we, as MMO gamer, expect in a MMORPG? That's the question the developers should ask theirselves.
Almost every MMO gamer knows that MMORPG stands for "Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game"! With just knowing that, we already expect something "Massive" from it, and since it's the first word in that abbreviation, we expect the developers to take that as a priority when they start to create one! And not the way most of the recent developers seems to do, they only think massive $$. That's the problem nowdays. They are all blind with $$ marks in their eyes.
It's time for the MMO developers to start to look back in the days where the MMORPG's were MMORPG's. Where we had freedom, where we felt to be part of the world, where we could explore without loading zones, where we took part of a battle with 100's of players, where we needed to group to survive, where we were the character and where the developers themselves were part of the community. I miss the good old days... I really do.
The Developers should once again think as gamer to make something for the gamer. So we, those that wander for to long now, finaly can find their home...
