You make a good point about the lack of honest, timely communication in this genre being one of the chief frustrations. I may add that it once I get past the unsubscribe queue and can cancel.

I'm sorry, how does that prove that there is a huge queue line of quitters?  There can be all kinds of reasons why there is high traffic on their network and servers that has nothing to do with the quitter line, but still affects their entire system none the less.  You do know that most of these systems are likely to share resources right?

Lol this whole website is just one big troll fest. The mods don't do anything to stop it.  The mods are more then happy to warn people for attacking others, but it is perfectly okay to troll, degrade, and generally just make up lies and flame to start up drama.

I think you get that page because servers are down.  It's a generic reply.

I have a 50 Powertech and a 43 Guardian. I have seen a lot of the single player. I have also beaten every boss on normal and every boss on hard mode except the new ones from yesterday, Bonetrasher and SOA.

It's safe to say I am well acquainted with what SWTOR has to offer.

The problems that have added up to my quitting are:

1. Lack of Hi Res Option. I am looking at this game for hours at a time, and lack of hi-res breaks immersion and reduces fun for me. At this point, WoW - a 7 yo game with a few updates over the past few years - has an edge on this newly created game. Not even having the OPTION to turn on hi-res due to potential frame rate slowdowns even though it worked fine in beta  really seems like a copout for deeper problems and is for me a game breaker. First off, I am betting 30% or more of your endgame clients (the subscribers) have solid enough computers/the knowhow to make it work, and there are many advanced options that could get it to happen - LOD seetings: like 7 full draws, 20 medium and the rest low. Players and NPCs within X yards at high, the rest at medium, etc. The official response seems just like a lie to hide a deeper problem. Promotional materials and a beta being sent out using a disabled feature is being termed by many as bait and switch. I may not go that far, but it is enough to finally turn me the corner and not sub.

2. End Game Content Bugs. I have bugged on Hard/Nightmare mode 3rd boss of EV over 10 times in 2 weeks. We ended a raid night early due to it. We then came into EV last night to see the 4th boss council was magically back up then SOA was unlootable. Last night, the new bosses had their normal mode loot broken so that pieces specific to one class were auto-looted to other classes. Sorcerer with a Marauder offhand - sure, why not. Those are just 3 of the bugs. There are several more, but these are the most recent.

3. PVP. Period. Nothing more to say there.

4. Account Problems. I activated my game months in advance in order to get my guild set up for early deployment (which ended up being a lie as well), but when it came time to activate the subscription, my already applied game code was deemed invalid. $60 was taken from me by Origin and it showed up as activated on Origin's desktop program, but Origin was still listing the game as "Unreleased". Battlefield 3 was sitting next to SWTOR working fine, but SWTOR, despite it being the 21st was showing unrleased. I got through to customer service and I appreciated the helpfulness of the staff on the phone. The problem is that their request for me to take a screenshot of the Origin problem and me trying to enter the same code online and it being rejected was not replied to in a timely manner. The next afternoon I decided to go ahead and buy another copy of SWTOR to make sure I could keep leveling. That problem with Origin was on the 21st. I JUST received a response on that - nearly a month later, and the response was that they see my account has been activated so they are closing the ticket. This is despite me sending an email to support explaining that I had bought another copy and needed a refund on the original. I have no answer to that refund request and am coordinating with Origin today to see what can be done.

This game was fun. The 1-50 was better than the leveling of any other game. BUT as a single player, it is KOTOR3 with 30 hours of gameplay and the rest as stuffing. As an mmo, it is not giving me enough positives to stay on and pay the monthly.

I did enjoy my time, but letting you hit my credit card will send the wrong message. I choose not to cast my dollar vote in this direction.

I will probably jump back into WoW for the 10 or so hours  a week it is fun to raid and am eagerly looking forward to your competitors GW2 and TERA - both of which may fail miserably but at least will have hi-res and TERA having been out so long in Korea already will most likely not have the bugs.

I will keep tabs on SWTOR and resub when the graphics, endgame and PVP are all fixed.

Not sure how you derived that from his post. He was posting that he submitted all that and the system kicked his cancellation out due to load on the system.

Oh I heard aboout some players missing cancelation option too but luckly I had no issues. I can see how that can add to frustration though as I experienced similar problem with SWG few years ago. Cancelled subscription 2 months in a row to find myself charged the next month and my sub misteriously activated. Im sure I would be compensated if i took time to bring the issue to cservice but even so such things shouldnt happen if company wants to leave a good impression on customers and prove they are trustworty. But Im of the opinion if developer has a good thing comming they make sure to announce it, if not they are slow and hesitant on announcments which is the case here. Sorrz for lack of spacing, it doesnt work over the phone.

Bioware hasn't been hesitant to announce anything at all. if anything they are talking open about a lot of issues and the future in general. And for you to pretty much speculate bioware is going to charge you just because SWG(Worst game ever, made by the worst company ever) did, then that is sort of pathetic.

I am pretty sure people are smart ennough to decide for themselves if a game deserves their money and time. I think WOW deserves nothing in its current state but i am sure you won't stop playing it because i said so.

really???  REALLY?    These energy-drink gamers man..  the game's out for ONE MONTH and you have almost 2 capped characters and you're mad at the game for that?     There is more to do in the "open world" of this game than I've seen since FFXI.   I love the pvp.    I'm not even capped yet but in my 40's and I got their semi-casually.   I might get 1-2 days a week to play "hardcore" for hours on end, and still I can't fathom why I would be rushing up to 50 in the first month and expect the game to feel "fun" after that.       really, stay off youtube.  play the game.  explore. adventure.  accessorize. make some friends.  stop thinking you're going to be "the first badass on the server" and you might enjoy the great MMORPG you have in front of you.

The Customer service is the worst...

Account One to which I had my Pre Order code on I can never access again purely because I put the name on it as rigjpgpogrf any old letters which clearly aren't a proper name. They kept telling me they cannot fix my login problems to that account until I get the person with that name lol. I mean who puts their real name on every account? Just reset the password the to email holder, my name is on the damn email, I even tried sending them my Id as proof.

So I made account two and my Security Key that you get in the CE stopped working. So I tried to get them to reset my security key but all I get is I need to phone them, however when I phone them it costs me money, lots of money at their rates. I spent nearly an hour on hold to say they were forwarding it to the right deparment......... I thought customer service was? I cannot get a repsonse out of them on the phone and it costs me too much to phone. Tried to email them but they keep telling my to phone.

The Customer service is a joke and I cannot cancel my account because I cannot login.

Huh...

Know what I did when I quit lotro? I moved on.

EVE was less than stellar at launch and it took WOW 5 years to reach the numbers it has today. Rift have seen a moderate success and sitll has long time to go before being considered as a game 'which stood test of time'. Swtor is a young game and it is too soon to call it fail when you don't even have one solid fact to back up your assumption. 'unsubbing en masse'.

I'm sorry but:

 I am not a diehard SWG fanboy.

I am not a "power gamer"; I work part time and go to college.

I did not expect a miracle game.

I did expect a polished game as they claimed it to be.

I did expect the high rez textures they have used in all of their promotional videos and screenshots claiming them ingame.

I did expect them to take all areas of the game seriously and not launch broken content without testing it.

I know quite a few people in my group and in others (some with CE's) who liked the game for what it could have been but can not accept the issues and the rather haphazard way Bioware has handled this game.

Also I was able to get to level 33 , 28, 20, and 16 on several characters in my free time; playing less than 2-3 hours a day. 2 of my friends hit level cap with full time jobs and families in the first month. This idea that somehow you have to be a "power gamer" to get through 1-50 in a month is a misnomer.
