I beleive in life before death... So dont forget to enjoy it while you still can. |
While the swtor design has lots and lots of grouping requirements/possibillities, making Heroics accesable on a daily base works contraproductive, it prevents people from grouping up, when they have allready done such instance. Which is a really really big mistake. What where they thinking?
Currently i am a super hero in DCUO. |

Originally posted by Lord.Bachus The used to allow (and maybe still do) that you could do the same heroics twice in a single day with a short time span between them (I think it was 30 minutes).
But I don't think they wanted to give unlimited repeatables because some heroics actually give a ton of XP... and some are very easy to complete.
Off the top of my head, the sarlacc (otherwise known as the gribnatch) is a very easy one that gives a lot of XP, and red handed on alderaan has a lot of mobs that give a ton of XP as well as the quest itself giving a ton. You gain between a quarter and a half of a level just from running that one, if you kill the mobs on the way, and you can easily have 1 character stealth through the entire way and just get the clickys.. so.. it would be easily exploitable. |

The design flaw is when games have to limit how much you can do something.... that tells you all you need to know about the amount of content and the developer's perception about how long it will keep you playing the game.

I don't think they were for many parts of the game, they just straight copied the wow formula and made some tweaks here and there over time and added cutscenes and VO. It's clearly not a game designed from the ground up. Regardless, heroics only being completable once per day is a good thing.. You could perhaps make it so a person could run it infinitely but be locked out of rewards except for once a day (DCU did this I believe). |

Originally posted by fadis This is true, but that isn't really directed at heroics though, as heroics aren't meant to keep players coming back, they are meant as a point A to point B type of leveling content... not a grind mechanic, which would be if you found the 1 heroic that took no time and gave you a lot of XP, some people would just do that.
In a way it saves the integrity of the content, on the other hand it also could draw out the game for those looking to rush to max level.
Now repeatables at end game... yeah, I'd agree with you there. |

Originally posted by fadis So, somehow in your mind, making it so you cant repeat the same content multiple times per day somehow means there trying to hide a lack of content?
If they were trying to hide a lack of content the smart thing to do would ALLOW you to repeat the same content multiple times, not lock you out of it.
Apparently stating the truth in my sig is "trolling" |

I wish all heroics could be re-run for the different gear appearances..at least the ones with multiple orange items as a reward. Some do and I collect what I can. At the least it would offer commendations after the first run and I could get all the vendor stuff.lol. |

Design flaw? So when these guys were running back to back Rift heroics before they put a lock out on them getting geared super fast, then crying at Trion that the game had no end game.
^ that the design flaw you are talking about. It is exist for a reason because MMO companies have to treat the players like children and put limits on them. btw this could be worse because Korea controls how much time you can actually play and China is even more strict. |

Originally posted by Lord.Bachus You can still do the Heroic with your friend even if you don't have the quest. If these Heroics could be repeated several times in the same day, people would just farm them for loot and XP. It's not a design flaw. It's very much intentional, and very much required. |
