I bet ArenaNet are just playing Skyrim all day long, trying to figure out a way they could introduce something even remotely close in GW2.
'Course I'm just kidding. Although I might as well not be too far off the truth. Lots of great and very original games came out this year, perfect occasion to see what other developers have done and wether it's possible to improve something in your own game. If GW2 comes out a better game at the end of all this wait, then it's a little ridiculous to complain. However, that doesn't mean that it will be a success either, only time will tell. ------ |

I support ArenaNet's decision. Release when ready. |

I d say they have a target date but will not release it until they are sure they can launch on that date.
I don't care how long they take as long as it is good. I'm buying it and not paying a sub for a few years which will make me very happy. if this game turns out polished and awesome(like I hope), I wonder if sub games will suffer dramatically? Polished game on release = awesome Buggy game with promises broken = killer blow |

When its done ! how i like it, but it offcause require a mature hardcore fanbase to deal with it. Something GW2 had a few years ago. With all the hype that have changed. But if you want a good AAA mmo, don't expect to see less than 5 years development time today. And that we hit around summer 2012.
read how to create a succesfull mmo before posting about GW2. And read tao of ArenaNet before talking about innovation in GW2 |

Honestly i didn't wanted to read the rest of your post Op after the first few sentences, i guess everything can be taken badely. But when you have a decade of a half of mmos that were throwed out the window because they needed to be launched before being finish for financial reasons obviously. And you have some companies says "fuck the investor directives, we'll do it our way because thats our job", then its bad? *roll eyes* |

"When it's done." That's exactly what Id said about Duke Nukem Forever. They wanted to have that perfect game and wouldn't release it until then. And, well, we see how that turned out. |

Originally posted by Requiamer Well, trying to make sense of your post caused a rather painful aneurism to develop in my skull, but... [Mod Edit] edit because the mod edit frakked up the entire point of my post: The article was for the idea of "when it's done", so next time actually read through the article instead of basing it all on the first paragraph, especially when the point of the article is made clear in the very beginning of the second paragraph. |

But were they constantly showing videos of things from Duke Nukem? Its pretty clear to any rational adult that GW2 is moving forward all the time. |

Wow cynical and rather impatient bunch here. Seriously it's time to step back and relax. The game is obviously making progress. While you wait you could spend some time in TOR(amazing game).. LOTRO.. Lineage 2(not for everyone but for those of us with an old school bent it's pretty much the most free game I've played).. Skyrim.. TERA(if it comes out before GW).. or whatever else floats your boat. Read a few books maybe.. it's not coming out tomorrow.. and I really doubt it'll release before fall 2012.. to be safe I'd not plan to see it until spring 2013. Things happen but it's better than seeing a game you love fail because everything came "too little too late" as we all know that mmo gamer's are quite forgiving... |

Delayed gratification is such an issue with people nowadays. This game is seemingly epic, and people say that 2 years ago it was new but now that they have taken so long it's outdated and that Archage is the new thing now. my favorite thing about what ArenaNet is doing is that they say this will be done when it's done rather than ruin a great game with constricting deadlines. Creative ability is trumped when that happens.
