at least toro has 4 class side quets that at least the 40% are class based and rest for all in other MMOs are only 1 with lesser class based quests and in all MMOs all alts doing the same thing over and over again |

Originally posted by defector1968 not true.. in rift for example I had so many quest I never finished at least three of the 30-50 zones or even visted them with several of my characters cause I was already level 50 by the time i finished quests in other zones.. Also I leveld 2 characters there without even questing and just through PVP, invasions, and dungeons.. although this game does have an advantage of a much better main quest.. thing is repeat content is inevitable in an MMO which is why gameplay needs to make up for this fact... http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/339443/Video-FollowUp-Guide-For-Enhancing-Graphics-and-Performance-in-SWTORSorry-still-Nvidia-Only.html |

Whew...yea needs fix'n :/
Though I didn't think this game would be heavy on replayability due to the questing, I think just roling two characters each on different factions would help...I guess? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns-IIn-DG-c Try to argue this please. Oh also if you quote me and it's to argue my point, if I don't respond it means I haven't been corrected by you and/or I haven't seen it. Remember I don't mind admitting I am in the wrong. Take care :D |

Originally posted by ropenice you still do that though.. maybe not rats but don't try to pretend the starter quests are anything but this same old crap every MMO has with a nice VO cover up http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/339443/Video-FollowUp-Guide-For-Enhancing-Graphics-and-Performance-in-SWTORSorry-still-Nvidia-Only.html |

Originally posted by Clerigo Sure there are. They're just playing the game, not complaing on forums. BTW, I do agree that it would be good to have other questing options/areas available. Maybe thats something they have planned for the future. I think the class storyline ties their hand a bit, though.

Is this sarcasm, or are you really calling the level 20-24(?) planet a starting area? I keep seeing people do this, like everything below level 30 is a painful starting area, but maybe I'm misunderstanding?

Ok now some trolls are just reaching...the start areas are better than any other mmo out there, but now they aren't good enough? Clearly, there is no pleasing some of you whiny kids who can't appreciate something good. |

even though the starting areas arent the best for people like me who role various alts, i take SWTOR's starting areas over Rift's anytime. |

All I know is that I'm having a lot of fun with my Alts already, so much that at times I have a hard time deciding which to play. I have them split between republic and empire and I'm not playing the redundant classes yet, so everything is fresh and fun. I can't say how long that will last, but this will easily last me a few months and I can re-evaluate it then.

Originally posted by Loekii Let's get to the real truth or the meat of this. So many people want to compare this to WOW and then break it down to look like a lesser version, which it's not, it's actually much more. Really, what is the percent of people who played or still is playing WOW that actually sit's and reads every text line for a quest. I know i never did, i know many many people who didn't either. What's the deal. So in WOW you could go to another area, run through a city, grab all the quests without ever reading what that pertained and where to go, thxs to quest finder and map finder and all that other bull. The very first time you stepped into WOW, most probably paid more attention to the quest line and such, but after that and creating a alt, it's just zipping through the area gather all quests and balling to end level. The probelm i see, with people that are bitching about creating an alt and having to do the same world quests, is just about having to not sit through the VO once again. I hope people understand that they can hit their SB to advance the VO and be done with it very fast. Since the early access started i leveled a sith Assassin, all the way to like15 when i got my ship. Kinda felt like i want a force user that had more saber skills and survivability and rolled a warrior. Totally different class quests, all the same world quests. Since i'm not a person that wants to rush to end level i skip nothing. How hard would it be to just skip the VO part if you don't want to hear that again. I have confidence in Bioware, i really do. I'm not a blind fan so to speak, but they talked the talk and walked the walk with this game. Like it or hate it, they created and have done what they set out to do. I'm sure when they say they already have been working on new planets and other stuff, they mean that. Their listening and i do believe that they care enough about this game to add those things that the communtiy feels is lacking. The game has been built on a very solid foundation. Just think how much this game has to offer on release. Think about how much more it will be 6 months or a year from now. |

Originally posted by JeroKane That information is incorrect. I easily had anywhere from 8+ non-heroic quest left on most of the planets I went to. Throw in heroics (I pretty much skipped them all, minus one or two on Tatoonie) and I'd easily have 10 or more quest left per planet all the way up to Voss. The only planet that doesn't would be Quesh (sp?). If you are running out of quest on planets you are doing something wrong. There is easily enough quest on each planet to put you a level or more pass their recommend level cap. In War - Victory. |

I will probably play ONE empire class and ONE republic class and that's even one class more than I usually roll in MMOs... Yes different story etc. but most quests are the same! |

Not only that, the PvP, ship missions and Flashpoints give stupid amounts of exp. You often end up overleveled for a zone if you do everything the game has to offer, including crafting.
I was just in a party with a guy today who everytime we got to a hub, he'd be out of ready to go in like.. 10 secs. When I asked him was he skipping all the cutscenes, he said "yes". When I asked him did he do these before (in early betas) he said "No".
This is what the mmo genre has come to. Players who've been trained that mmos are just something to 'level in', and then go to the next game. |
