I have one character I play as solo character and three group characters ( so far and all republic side. Basically I have all 4 base classes ). I don't mind running through the shared class with people I group with nor do I spacebar it. So far, the community I have encountered are fine. I have yet to find one person asking others to spacebar the story. On all my 3 group characters, people makes different choices. I know one thing different from other text based quest : People I group with talk about the cut scene stories. We would even discuss the story line and each NPC characters. Maybe I am just the lucky one that get to group with people like that ? |

Originally posted by Loekii I learned from Ikeda that this is true you can travel to other worlds, but you cannot run your class stories. Then someone sent me an email and said that though you can travel to other worlds there is not enough side quest to level up so that you can move onto the next planet...so in a sense it is true but not true because then you will either have to go back and do some questing in original planet to get to a level that allows you to move on or grind the space game to level in order to move on. ![]() |

Really hoping some alternate pathways open up, like several planets in the same level range that are relatively "open." It would be nice to level a while on one planet, skip around, come back etc. I can understand the main class story being very linear, but the side quests you really should be able to move through the galazy a bit more.
Of course, I'm notorious for not playing alts. I can see how the side-quest storyline would be grating though on multiple runs. I already get annoyed on the Esseles/Black Talon having to go through the conversations every time... not sure how end-game raids/dungeons will be as far as that. If we have to grind them then they should really allow to skip that stuff if the whole group has already done it and opts to skip.
Overall though I'm loving the game. It has a lot more to it than the story. Everyone who talks about it being a copy of WoW either haven't played it, or are way too jaded on MMOs. Those are the people that I feel sincerely don't like MMO games, they only like their "hopes" and "wishes" for what MMO games "could" be. Hell even companion management is it's own little side-structure mini task. The space shooter is pretty fun too, regardless of all the drama. I'm enjoying getitng parts for my ship and the distraction.
Anyway, it has tons to offer, and I'm sure they'll continue to add more and more content. Hopefully, some of that content will be alternate leveling pathways and the like.

Bioware already said, they have been working on new planets and quests for some time now. The tools they created to do so, makes it very easy to add in new content. I think it would be easy to rectify the problem some of you have when leveling a alt. All they would have to do is add in a few more low level and teen level planets that can be shuttled to from your starter and capital planets before you get your ship. Once you get your ship though, from my expierence so far, everything opens up pretty good. |

I hope BW is working on seeding all planets with multiple levels of content and alternate story paths -- for example having the class stories become open enough that you can follow them on different planets (creating a parallel to class progression in WoW, for example). |

Originally posted by AdamTM I don't think they did promise that, just a rough average estimate of 200 hours to level cap. Some people just interpreted it as 200 hours of unique story content. They weren't really all that vague, some people were just so overhyped they couldn't interpret statements for what they were. |

Originally posted by JoeyMMO I think once people realize that TOR really isnt all that different then any other themepark MMO on the market population will die down alot. Without cut-scenes TOR is just a new AAA themepark MMO with EA / Bioware / Star Wars stamped on the cover to bring in more profit. It brings nothing new or inventive to the genre unfortionately. Originally posted by sanosukex What I'm doing to counter balance that a bit is to roll a different AC for each class on the other side. For example, if I chose a Jedi Consular Shadow for Pub, then I roll a Sith Inquisitor Sorcerer on Imp side. Also, on my second time through with an alt, I'm doing more leveling through class quests, flash points, space combat, and PvP then I did the first time through, where I mainly concentrated on Class and Side quests. This way, I am able to skip a large portion of content in terms of side quests. Not sure I could deal with doing EVERY Coruscant quest again.

Kind of funny, I agree with parts of all of these quotes. I did not mind Tython. However I despise Taris, and so after my main - I am also levelling alts just with the main quest line and space combat as well as flash points. I have not played a huge amount, enough to get my Scoundrel to 30, but I am thoroughly enjoying myself. This will keep me busy for a while. |

Originally posted by sanosukex Yup, that's my one gripe about the game, and the one thing that I really hope they add--alternative planets to level on. The game has alternative paths to level, but not alternative questing paths. Hopefully that gets fixed later, particularly for those folks who due to guild obligations or personal preference are tied to one faction. |

Originally posted by tillamook I felt the same way about Dromund Kass and Coruscant. I enjoyed Coruscant much more. Maybe the taxi's just fit in much better on coruscant then they do Dromund Kaas. It's still not going to stop me from playing a ton of alts. I can feel your anger. This game is defenseless. Take your weapon. Strike this game down with all of your hatred, and your journey towards towards the Dark Side will be complete. |

Originally posted by Homitu not really.. well if several you mean 4 then yes and besides your main class quests all the side quests are the same.. unfortunatly the starter planets aren't very interesting to want to actually play through them multiple times http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/339443/Video-FollowUp-Guide-For-Enhancing-Graphics-and-Performance-in-SWTORSorry-still-Nvidia-Only.html |
