I was wondering. I have 700 Lightside points. I would actually love to have a red lightsaber. But i heard i need 1000 darkside points more than i have lightside points.. so i need 1700 darkside points. Would if be stupid of me change side? I'm guessing there's enought darside points out there, cous i just left the starter planet

Yeah there are enough points

Up to you if you want to change its not stupid, just another option.

  No!  OK...let me try to explain this (I'm not entirely sober at this point :D)

  If you are Republic - and wish to have a RED crystal - you can have it - as long as you remain under 'lightside 1' (1000 lightside points)

  At 700 points, you can still use a red crystal.  As long as you don't get 300 more lightside points, you can keep it.  You don't need ANY darkside points (You could effectively stay at zero by swapping them out if you wanted)

  To sum it up - as long as you stay under 999 'light' points - you can keep your red crystal.  If you go over that - it deactivates.

Nothing wrong with going darkside.. it is just another option

  The only Darkside vendor that *I* am aware of is on the fleet.  There may be more, but I've never looked for them.  I do know that Republic DO get drops that can be darkside 2 and more - since I got one today at 18 (and it sucked, it was a blue relic that required Dark 2)

Well, it's an alignment change, not a side change.   You are still on the Republic side, either way.   You have 700 LS points, so I assume you tend to lean toward the lightside.  It is not stupid to change alignments, if you are happy with making darkside decisions.  Those 700 points won't be a huge factor in the grand scheme of things.

No, you can go still darkside.  The only problem comes when using equipment that has restrictions. He was just pointing out that if you get to 1000 LS points, you can't use a red crystal.  You can pass 1000 LS points, and then start a journey back toward the darkside at any time.
