In some other mmo's folks hang around outside the bank or the A.H on the marketplace during their downtimes...

Is it any particular place like that on Coruscant/Kaas aswell or where will I see you?

This place will become clear in time. It will be whatever is the most frequented building (bank, ah, market etc) in the area, then on a larger scale, the most frequented building in the most frequented city on the most frequented planet. Dont know where that is yet tho....

Yeah with a total lack of social features, this game isn't really going to encourage 'hanging out' I don't think.  It will likely be at the main commerce/banking centers like every other themepark.

You mean with a lack of the social features you deem as social features? Last I checked "hanging out" constitutes standing around talking to people. Theme parks feature this, usually in cities and as you mentioned the main commerce areas. So yes, there will be a social hub that people hang out in, that being the respective stations on both Empire and Republic. 

We can use our knowledge of past experiences and gamer psyche to deduct that it will most probably be;

Around a post box / fountain / *insert landmark here* where people can dance semi-naked in an elevated position with maximum exposure to other players.

We clearly don't know what a "real" social feature is. I mean, chat features are not social at all. In all honesty, someone who claims a game lacks "social features" is only a sandbox fan who likes to hang out in player run towns,ect. I assume that is what it means anyways. I mean hell, back in Ultima Online the most popular place to hangout was Britain. It was almost like a modern day Stormwind since it had the most access to game features,vendors,housing,ect. 

People will always flock to the place where you can gain access to the most game features with little travel.
