"The one you call messiah is a lie"--- Gary Numan |
I got this clip from a friend who has a cousin and his wifes long lost brother turned up out of the desert gasping for water with shredded clothes and a grainy DVD recording of Georgies latest brainfart,
This all alleged but when I ask myself could the man that made Han shoot first and created Jar Jar do something this dumb the answer is always yes! Discuss!

I hope Lucas has added some digital Gungans to Empire. I mean, if there was one thing that it was missing, it's definitely Gungans. And maybe some extra digital snow, you know, the whiter kind. Oh and maybe the Empreror is Luke's father now. I mean, it's a minor change, right? "I’d rather work on something with great potential than on fulfilling a promise of mediocrity." |

Well, Lucasfilm and have been messing with 3D for years.
As for the three new films... They could do it and make it great, but, they need other writers. Or George needs someone to tell him no when he does something bad.
i think he Lucas means well. He does not set out to destroy his own legacy. But when you havent been making a movie since 1983, or well actually, Lucas didn't direct the other two, so it was more like 1977 - You can't blame him for losing his creative spark.
It's does people around him. In every single goddam documentary you see it's always "George this" and "George that". It gives you the impression that nobody has the balls to look at his script and say - "really george, this is mediocre/sappy".
It's not that everything about the prequels is bad. the more I think about it, the more I'm okay with what they tried to do. telling the whole anakin becomes vader story was not a bad idea at all. But across dialouge, pacing, casting and so on, something went wrong on several levels.
Acting was not the strong suit, even in the old movies(except for Alec Guinesss) but witty dialouge and great moments kept it from being hammered. The older Anakin Actor is at least as good an actor as Mark Hamill was as Skywalker. But Luke actually had dialouge that you could f**king say.
It's bullshit when people say that the Anakin dude was a bad actor. Read the script and look at what he had to work with. Even Liam Nesson who is a bad mofo actor said that during episode 1 they hardly had any directing. it was just blue-screen, and you could tell that the technology in 1997-1999 really was very limited in how to make beliveable acting. in many of the scenes with jar jar binks, the jedis are not even looking directly at him. Not that anybody cares.
I'm one of those people that thought very well of Episode 3. Still some sappy romance, but I think the duel was fantastic, the music was wonderful and the acting was solid from everyone. Particularly palpatine. |

Originally posted by Kalfer When I went through the new blue ray movies, I noticed this. But then I looked again and realized that the Gungans have eyes on top of their head. So I looked closer and saw that they were looking him in the eye, because it was above his head, not like ours. It did look a bit strange, but they were looking in the right place.
And I like your new story OP. You should send it to Lucas, he might use it. “How many people long for that "past, simpler, and better world," I wonder, without ever recognizing the truth that perhaps it was they who were simpler and better, and not the world about them?” |

If you look at some of the classical paintings, sometimes the artists went back and changed things. Some artists are always chasing their vision or idea of perfection. You have to be careful though. Even some of the famous classical poets went back and revised their works.
I do think the classic version should be available to those who want it. But also as an artist, Lucas should be free to pursue his vision. |

You may laugh, but I read somewhere that they are working on something similar. Here is one place: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLa1rdfu6Bg

I'm going to say somthing i will regret....I love starwars but not the prequels. the reason i like what the fans have tried to do with it. they don't brainstorm how they could add shit that appeals to kids. and they don't pretend to be all for fan works then send a cease and desist everytime one of them starts create something that clashes with georges IP. LA has been the "Empire" in every which way and respect to many fans. truth is new hope was a good movie and got me interested and allowed me to get hooked. but when those prequels started i felt a sinking feeling that this old fart is trying to make a buck. and for the most part it worked well. and he got richer and added more chins. maybe thats why us oldsters get bitter when chief 9 chins starts to get greedy and ruins all that came before. and don't defend that block of wood hayden christensen That guy just annoyed me to no end.
In a fantasy world of my own choosing, i wished he would have let us fans have it as it was orginally and let the stories and lore develop without his lawyers shutting all the good ones down, and without george writing a prequel up for a cash grab. I do like whay Kotor added to the table i must admit. but how long until LA demands that chief gets to control story for his own greedy ass intentions?
Currently in post production my new Hero Engine based MMOG Force-Strike viva la SWG! You will live on my love!! |

Some people claim that some of the Expanded Universe stories like those of Thrawn, Bane, Exar Kun and such, are vastly superior to any of the works that Lucas himself wrote. I haven't read them, so i can't say.
As far as appealing to kids - Well. I think Harry Potter is great, but I don't understand the insane geekout obsession. If I was a 8 year old kid, like when I watched Star Wars for the first time.. who knows. Maybe I would have geeked out of my mind.
Likewise, if I had only experienced SW as an adult. Maybe I wouldn't have taken such a liking in the first place. SW is something that resonates with me from childhood, and I am totally cool with that. |

Originally posted by Kalfer lol, actually, I was an 8 year old kid when I watched Star Wars in the theater. I have to agree with the OP but then I have to "not agree". In the end, when all is said and done, it's lucas' work. It's his legacy, his "art", his business, all "him". So he has the right to muck it up if he wants. Of course, we have the right not to buy it. |
