It could be a good setting and game for say an MMOFPS. "Never argue with a fool; onlookers may not be able to tell the difference." I need to take this advice more. |

Mass Effect is a solo experience. The games are about Commander Shepherd. There's no compromise here. He fights like a Krogan, runs like a leopard - you just can't beat Commander Shepherd. Mass Effect is good because of it's characters, Dragon Age is the same. The characters where mediocore at best in Dragon Age 2, and see where that got them? Not everything has to be a MMO.

Originally posted by Unshra Bioware have made it pretty clear, even before this interveiw that Mass Effect 3 wont be the end of Mass Effect, its just the end of Shepard and that particular story. Heres one of the articles from august, there are other, older articles to, http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/08/28/bioware-with-mass-effect-3-commander-shepards-story-is-complete/ Bioware have "ambitious plans" to make more games, whether its an MMO or single player it doesnt say, although this article here seems suspicous, maybe Bioware asked MMORPG to see what the general opinion is. Whatever happens we will see a lot more Mass Effect.

From what we know, GW2 is a very alien iteration of an MMO. It combines the old and the new. The combat system looks exciting and new, their take on PvP is AWESOME (no more retarded "rank" grinds for gear and have everyone higher rank than you stomp you in the process) and the personal story looks intriguiging. I could go on, but I won't.
Seriously, stop your hate for GW2 from clouding your comprehension. To say that GW2 looks innovative, fresh, or promising will not take away from whatever merits SWTOR has. (Merits that I personally can't see, but every game has it's lovers so I'm sure those people can fill the blank in for me) "Never argue with a fool; onlookers may not be able to tell the difference." Nope that is not a good IP for a MMO in my minds eye. |

Originally posted by Ozmodan Mass Effect is the perfect IP for an MMO, huge world with factions that settle their differances with guns, loads of races, defined classes and plenty of worlds and potential for a story that would justify an MMO. Imagine being a bounty hunter in the Terminus systems or an Asari commando fighting Reapers/Collectors/Krogan/Rachni/Red sand smugglers or whatever else. Mass Effect is probably as perfect an IP as you could get. Whether it would be good or not would be a failiure on the part of developers not the IP. Mass Effect has everything a mmorpg needs, looking at it as a world/universe. Now on top of that, use obviously the Mass Effect style FPS-RPG gameplay and build the whole thing as a sandbox-themepark hybrid and we have a winner. Cant go wrong. Mmorpg-fps. |

I think A ME mmo would be great. Massive Universe to play in. Third person cover based combat of ME2. Deeper RPG elements than ME1. A little crafting. I would set the party size to four and make the only large scale content as open world type invasion style content (no Raids!). Kind of like a war simiulation. Also I would make it Pve only.
Playing: GW2 |

If it stays faithfull to the main series atmosphere, art design and general gameplay - i would play it like crazy. But if it's WoW with krogan, forget it. |

Yes the World is ready. The question is..... are they ready to deliver a great MMO ? and not a wow-clone? Maybe after Guild Wars 2 is released many will learn how to ;) |

I would rather see a trilogy of Mass Effect Movies than a Mass Effect MMO. No not ready!! Better make the movies rather than the MMO. The guy from clash of titans could be a good Shepard.

Why do they have to use a game with a good story, i mean they allready did it in SW:TOR, so why the hell cant they just leave som of their stories to the good old RPG formula which doesn't suck ass? Its like a MMORPG is just an excuse to say "hey guys we made these 3 single player games, so how about we make an MMORPG which will suck ass, and yet you will still play it for 4 months, and have the subscription running for another quarter after that, just because you feel some sort of nostalgia while playing the MMORPG" |
