Probably won't happen as we'll likely end up elsewhere but curious how well this game works as a trio. If you have always three players, never grouping with anyone else could you complete most of the content? Have fun? etc? Thank you for any opinions or thoughts. This is one of those rare MMOs I have never tried at all. |

Originally posted by ZoeMcCloskey Well, most of missions are soloable with a few extras requiring 2 or 3 players The adventure packs and comic series (2-3hours instanced content packs) scales with team size so they should work fine for you.
Most of lairs are designed to be 5-man but most they can be even 4-man at elite difficulty. Devs has said that they are planning to make most lairs scalable by team size (they already converted 2 of them). So I would say a trio is pretty good bet for this game, it should be fun. However, I would advice to have the team balanced in terms of roles for better performance. |

Thank you for the answer :) As I said this game is kind of a dark horse for us picking it but it is good to know it will fit the things needed in a game.

May end up doing this. Now wondering, do you have to have the holy trinity to succeed? What if the whole team is ranged-blaster types? What if there is no one who can heal at all, can you get by with a very very tough tank and no healing?

It depends on the difficulty and the specific lair/adventure . You can go with blasters only but be prepared to craft some healing patches and if you can get a sidekick(kind of combat pet from some missions or c-store). The trinity is not that hard requirement, there is not need of a healazor or tankazor, just somebody who can through some heals now and then and somebody who can take the damage for some time. |

Originally posted by ZoeMcCloskey This is a game where everybody can bring their own healing. You can make all sorts of fun hybrid builds. You can even have tanks that do pretty good damage if you build right. Hmm. Actually, that's WITH a subscription. As F2P, you're a little more limited I guess, since you can't really make the crazy custom builds. Still, you can do most content with say... a tank and a couple dps types, even using just the F2P archetypes. Just bring along healing items, and be a little more careful. For example, one character I'm running right now is a dual sword DPS type... but they have a lot of dodge, and a heal that increases the more they dodge, and damage reduction that activates when they're doing their AoE, and automatic parry off of attacks. So they run into the middle of a group and just go crazy, swords everywhere. :) It's KIND of like a tank, but it isn't really, and the characters is always healing itself. With F2P, I'd suggest at least ONE of you three be either the ice-type or the behemoth, for some good solid damage soaking and a bit of taunting, so the other two players can go wild with the dps without worrying about getting beat down. :) If you want to be SUPER balanced, you can just have one dps type, one tank type, and the F2P healer type... which I forget what it is. D: (Subscribers get a LOT more options for how to do healing, some of them pretty combat oriented) Oh, and whoever is playing the tank archetype (If you stay F2P) is mostly just required for the tougher bosses. ... but they shouldn't feel too bad and like the dps people are taking all the fun killing, you can do crazy damage with both of the tank archetypes in F2P. I was able to keep aggro on myself just through sheer damage with an only slightly modified version of the behemoth. |

Thanks :) Actually probably only be one of us, maybe two as f2p. I tried out behemoth and liked it but of the gold-stuff I was looking at the Savage or Devastator most or of course making my own :P Sounds like this should be np then at all if we decide to do it. |
