I can see marketing people wanting to build potential subscriber interest. BUT...I think it is less than intelligent to expect to whip up subscriber enthusiasm soooooo far in advance of the potential subscriber being able to actually subscribe and play. For me....I'm tired of the tease.REALLY TIRED.
Companys like FUNCOM did this with AOC to an excrusciating degree...and I don't like it.I'm tired of the dance of 1000 veils...and waiting for the next veil to drop and reveal another micro piece of information.I have better things to do |

I think everyone knows here that i don't like how they designed this game, but i really don't care, so even if i sound like a hater, which i'm not, i'll say once more. The game is just not interesting, thats why there is a fatigue. The story they can't really talk about it to not spoil, and the rest isn't very much worth some interest, so we are left with very little to enjoy. Even Rift got me more interested, and i think never a mmo got me so little interested. Maybe it will be so much better played as some claim who knows. |

To me the marketing just makes me more cynical. |

I have no patience for impatient gamers. You'll get the darn game when it's ready. Quit whining. I think it's partly due to a you why our games get released so early and unfinished, and then the games fail because they were released too early. Gotta feel good knowing your impatience kills games. |

the more hype the higher the expectations, and usually the higher the expectations, the harder the disappointment. let's just hope they can deliver. |

The only fatigue is from people who obsess over and nitpick every goddamn game that comes out and who get bogged down on these boards. |

Yep battlefield 3 and skyrim are so close that even if starwars is released at about the same time I'll probably not play it until next year. I do think they should have set a release date and stuck to it. Basically its bad project management and I just hope their game coders/deisgners are better at their job that the management team. |

I'm at this bizarre crossroads centered on one side by, "I'm tired of hearing all the hype, let's get on with it already!", and coming from another direction is, "I'd rather not see a solid release date until BioWare KNOWS that the game is going to be amazing." While standing at these crossroads, I see on the horizon, 'word of mouth from my friends that have supposedly seen the beta are saying it's "F***ing amazing!" ', but residing along the dusky senset next to that is, "I have my Collector's Edition pre-ordered, this better not be another Final Fantasy XIV." I don't want to see this title rushed, but at the same time, they could have held back on all of the built up hype. It IS grating on my nerves. |

Just a quick reminder that the NDA is still in effect. The only thing you can reveal is that you are in beta. Any opinions on beta content, or even just telling people anything leading to such in a wink wink fashion is not permitted here. To give feedback on moderation, contact community@mmorpg.com |

It will be ready when it's ready. Period. I'd rather wait a bit longer for a game to release so that it gets released polished, and keeps me interested enough over time to make the investment in the game worthwhile, than for me to have to sit through a crappy launch and quit the game after a week. Age of Conan and Vanguard taught me that. Take as long as you need, BioWare. Just make sure it's a polished game when you release it. |

I think the beta shows us that the game will be a blast and the next big mmo to hit. Really, though, Bioware's next really big pre-launch move is to announce the game is gold master and going to retail. I think that news may come in October. |

You know, it's funny in a way. We have SWTOR which is all hush hush, NDA and all that, very closed doors and people are frothing at the mouth over it. In this other corner, I look at a game like ArcheAge which blows the door off any NDA, shows us every tittle about their game and everyone is like "sweet, can't wait to play it, take your time, make it awesome! whoohoo". See the problem here? |

I agree that it is even for me starting to get tiring, but I think all of this won't matter once release is upon us. It will be old forgotten news with the focus being on how well polished and smooth release goes. If that fails, it won't make a difference whether fatigue set in or not prior to launch. |
