Perhaps i'm missing it but i still don't see a date for the actual F2P. Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them. |

I believe they're using a progressive download system similar to what WoW has now. It'll download a few initial zones and the required files and then let you download the rest while playing which I think will work great because I usually spend damn near two hours making a character - haha. |

Well the 'special' uber deal on server transfers (6 for $6) lasts a week and the other assorted sales they announced when they put up the post about this were going to last two weeks. So I'd guess in about two weeks myself. |

Funny, folks said that 2 years ago...minus the free for all part. DCUO is the one who should be worried. There is NO miracle patch. 95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch. Hope is not a stategy. |

The customization and controls for CoH are vastly superior.. Free for all had it glory days due to it being the only free to play comic based super hero game out, but as that is about to change and get challenged by a game with tons more customization and power selections, the future looks bleak at best. |

Slow paced combat is superior? a matter of opinions I guess. One of my concerns with playing CoH f2p is that I will be satisfy with waiting cooldowns all the time and using AoE in my attach chain just to fill gaps. Character creator in CO is probably competing with ABP in being the best in the mmo industry. CoH might have more costume provided is 7 years old but not only the core options are more limited but also the gap between number of costumes is closing really fast. Surely, many people will try CoH again when it goes f2p, including most likely myself. However, I am not expecting to last long there beyond nostalgia satisfaction. Most freemium games have about 3 month of honeymoon. The most important part is what happen after that. |

Yo must be one of those players who never used enhancements and only made it to like level 10. The combat is fast enough. Champions online sucks compared to CoH. "faster" combat wont mean anything. Most games have cooldowns you act like CoH is the only one with them.
Also, APB's customization is a joke. I don't know why anyone would fall for that. You just color over dev made clothes that you can't change, just like any other games. APB's character customization is on par with with saints row 2 and 3 and the WWE games (which lets you paint things on clothes just like APB) at best, not to mention APB is also a terrible game, worse than CO.
I live for character customization and CO characters god awful ugly and the choices are super limited. Seriously, look at CO character's eyes. I can't be the only one that think they look like bad doodles. The best character customization anywhere is in second life. Even IMVU is better for character customization that most games. |

funny thing to try to attack the person instead of the argument. FYI, while it is nothing to brag about, I have 3 50s in CoX so I pretty much know how I like or not the game. If you are fine with cooldowns and attack chains good for you, those are my concerns and probably the ones of many other players. From turn based Final Fantasy style to pretty fast combo like Vindictus there are many shades in which CoX and CO are. CoX customization is not bad but there are areas were CO clearly gives more freedom of choices. For instance, body and face morphology in CO has a lot of more options than CoX, I can go from a evil look with small eyes to even animeish big eyes. I don't like CoX faces aesthetics. Power combinations and travel powers are other 2 areas were more combinations can be achieved. For example, you don't need to be a mastermind, to have pets and there is not limit in the combinations of pets, I could have zombies and robots if it is my liking . In some cases could even change the pets skin on the fly. Anyway, people don't have to believe any of us, they can try both games and see by themselves.

Slow combat? You can take on 17 villains at once in CoH. Can you do that in CO? I don't think so. |
