Raiding simply does not fit in todays mmorpg. The entire genre is much more lax when it comes to grouping, you can solo the entire time, you can instantly make groups for pvp, dungeons & open world activities within minutes and drop them in seconds and go about your business. Raiding requires dedication, a guild with the ability to get a bunch of people online at the same time, running on a schedule. Content goes from something u mindlessly clear in a pick up group to content that requires u to read player written game guides on the internet to actually clear.
Honestly Raiding doesnt fit anymore, this is proven by the extremely small percent of gamers that get far in this content and by the vast amount of people that avoid it by either taking part in hampster wheel pvp, re-rolling alts or leaving for another game.
In my opinion raiding needs to die and it needs to be replaces by small man content. content thats easy to get going, one that doesnt require a guild to recruit like its a wallstreet firm. Playing: GW2 |

Raiding can be fun but there are many who take things way to serious and kill that fun. People yelling at each other for mistakes, fighting over loot, lots of manipulators of raid leaders etc. People don't wanna deal with all that crap anymore, they don't want to feel like they have a second job which raiding can start to feel like.
I guess what I feel is wrong isn't with raiding but people just can't get along very well anymore and some like myself just don't have the time to raid. Before anyone says anything no I don't cry that I don't have time to raid :) Of course I don't speak for all, there are some guilds that actually get along well and can raid with no problem :) "The great thing about human language is that it prevents us from sticking to the matter at hand." |

Originally posted by Scalebane Raiding can be fun, and your right.. there are far too many people who treat it far too seriously.. each and every raid MUST be a success, and people DO have to do as their told etc etc.. not exactly fun when you treat it like that.. so what if you die.. hell, dieing can be hillarious sometimes, it depends on the situation.. raiding should be about having fun.. not about what reward you get at the end of it.. .. probably a lot of these 'serious' raiders will say im an idiot.... maybe their right.. or not |

I don't get the picture...
What sucks about raiding is having to raid the same instance 10,000 times before you have enough DKP points to get one fricken' piece of armor. I don't mind packs of players sitting on top of one another. |
