Only time I regretted not being korean was the first time a korean girl cooked me some real authentic korean food. I asked her for the recipe, but in korea the women don't pass that knowledge on until the woman gets married, so she didn't know the recipe. Just how to cook it. |

I'm all for ffa pvp but I see myself accidently aoeing others then being judged guilty by them. They cant have a harsh penalty incase this happens but then what discourages griefing. I'm really looking forward to this game but I just dont see the trial system working.
Also isnt the class system like rift, where you can theoretically pick from a bunch of classes but in practice pick the best cookie cutter for whatever role you play? |

I don't forsee best cookie cutter being quite as big of a problem in this game as rift. There will be a much more versatility in what you can do as far as content goes. There also does not appear to be a strictly pvp choice that further limits your options (for pvp). There also isn't a defined "base class", that defines your role. Basically builds should depend mostly on style of play. Sure in large group play a specialist will probably be superior to a character that can do a little of this and a little of that, but in solo or duo play a "jack of all trades" would probably be superior to the specialist, due to versatility and self sufficiency. |

One thing I've learned about free Korean games with open pvp, is that it's not free at all. The only way to survive is Pay2Win. And the more other players pay, the more you have to pay to be beter. No thanks |

As great as this game sounds and obviously looks, I think the mechanics to me just translate into 'Work'. It looks like a game that will/would take most of my time and I would need to really work my ass off to achieve something I could be proud of and have fun...
So, I'll pass ((I think)). We can never tell with these things. It is a DARN good looking game though, kudos to XL Games. |

honestly, before some of you start guessing and asuming you should do more research. even a quick view on the official game webside or a google search for jake song will give you more (and correct) facts on which you can build an oppinion. but wait, thats work and you have to think .....
(over 50% of all information made by others in above comments about archeage are not correct) |

I'm cautiously optimistic about ArcheAge. I'd love to be able to play a sandbox MMO with a solid design, but am not interested in a game where the top guilds "rule" the server and the law. I don't know that this is the case, but some of the systems outlined make it seem feasible. |

Being judged, You stole 12 pumpkins from LEETPLAYR, for this .. the jury sentances you to 6 days in jail. You sit in jail for 6 days unable to play character but still pay the sub. OOoOOoo or maybe you can log in to try to avoid getting attacked in the shower or shanked in the recreation area of the jail.
Sarchasm ? .. maybe :) I am curious to see how the punishment severity will be. I also wonder how many people would unsub if they are found guilty of any crimes. Work hard Play Harder |

I am curious about the trial system. There needs to be some sort of immediate penalty but does it apply to only 'homesteads' or anywhere? I assume the former from the mention of stealing crops. It would rather foolish if 'coppers' showed up in the middle of a distant field because someone capped another player. Then I wonder, what happens if you play on a low pop server (or at least in low pop time zones). Majority rules and a 1 vote can dictate death penalty (assuming only one person replied in a worst case scenario)?
I am cautiously reserved on this aspect. The 3 of 10 class/skill system sounds fun but unless they change skills periodically there will always be cookie cutter 'best' builds, usually before the OB (if they have one) closes. I am looking forward to Archeage but one too many 'great' MMOs with the best sounding 'innovative' systems have been found lacking in the last few years. I will watch in anticipation and reservation in equal parts. |

it does "look" epic. It's very pretty for sure. But I was personally not over-impressed with combat/combat-animations ... Aside from that it seems interesting I applaud their intention to promote player content, I think it's something vital to an MMO. True, it might mean more work initially, but i think it would save work and effort generating new content later on. Plus the ability to create content is a form of content in itself |

Originally posted by Darkcrystal I'm not scared to lose a virtual item, I just don't find that kind of gameplay to be any fun. I prefer working together with other players as opposed to bashing them over the head and taking their stuff. Besides, as was pointed out by several people in the thread, the trial system they mentioned just cries 'abuse' and 'corruption' to me. |

The trial system isn't anything like the America legal system; people can't just bring others to court on a whim. Previous talks spoke the ways people get charged with crimes, in regards to killing, is someone has to bear witness to the act and survive. Basically, when you are killed you drop a blood pool. Someone else can pick this up and turn it in before it disappears. You cannot pick up your own pool either. Then the item can be turned in as proof for the crime. Obiviously, the more proof the harsher the punishement. If you continue to commit crimes you are eventually flagged a pirate and not a part of the two original factions. This is all subject to change, but figured I would throw it out there seeing what things have been made up and listed like fact. |

I'm usually negative on this forum. Why? Because every game ad, interview, or concept is virtually the same. HOWEVER This game offers some real innovation. This game is unique. I'm really looking forward to it... much more than swtor etc. |
