Wouldn't want to log back into the game again.  Seeing Ahazi a ghost town?  No thanks.  I remember how quickly and how badly Ahazi depopulated after the NGE.  It was a terrible, left behind feeling, especially vivid memories as to how the server was once lively.  It was weird seeing it empty:  Theed, Coronet, Mos Eisley, Bestine.  All ghost towns.

I'd never want to go back to seeing it, even as a chance to gloat over the remains of SWG.

They blew up Intrepid... I got nowhere to go even if I wanted to.

We write to you today to inform you that on December 15, 2011, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) and LucasArts will end all services (MMO and Trading Card Game) for Star Wars Galaxies (SWG). The shutdown of SWG is a very difficult decision, but SOE and LucasArts have mutually agreed that the end of 2011 is the appropriate time to end the game.

We are extremely grateful to all of the SWG fans. We have had the rare opportunity to host one of the most dedicated and passionate online gaming communities and we truly appreciate the support we've received from each and every one of you over the course of the past eight years.

In recognition of your incredible loyalty, we are extending special Fan Appreciation offers to the current SWG community. We also plan to go out with a bang with a galaxy-ending in-game event in December and hope to see you all there. The details relating to these offers and events as well as the timeline and specifics regarding the discontinuation of the service, are provided below.

Again, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our player community for making SWG one of the best online communities in gaming history.

I agree with this statement 100%. People forget about that. I for one don't like neverending grinds. The NGE was bad at first, but now it is actually really good.

TBH it aint worth the sub, if it was a free to enter event, its worth the install & the patching.

I will be there. I will also probably need to re-activate my account before 15th September if I read it well. Havent logged since a few weeks after NGE. But I want to taste the last moment of swg before it dies. And enjoy JTL for a few moments.

They should just make it F2P than just end it all together, they'd probabaly be surprised on the amount of people that will still play.. But i understand they want to put their BIGGEST MISTAKE behind them

Maybe it's needed for them to see how many would return if they ever made pre-CU servers,

and

HOW MUCH MONEY THEY LOST BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T WANT TO DO THAT.

 I might sub like Aug 20, but ehh I really dont see the point really.    What special good bye would SOE put up?   They have proven to put out crap for years no vision, not saying that about thier Devs. Im saying that about thier bosses.  

If they allow for free play during the final day i might pop back in to slap Vader one more time.

The server will likey crash anyway.

I'll be there. I went from Bria to Flurry. Was gonna try to go back to Bria for the end but someone made another Foomerang there haha. Thats rare.

What's the point? Besides Pre-cu will be still available at that point anyway, where as NGE won't.
