Originally posted by Kuppa We're all hoping or Archage because they haven't revealed enough about the game so there isn't a large continegent of people on these forums who have already written it off as something they won't be playing. As more info gets known, that'll be changing. For now its all about "the promise" don't ya know. In my case I've already learned enough about Tera, GW2 and TOR to make me have doubts that they are anything worth leaving EVE for, other than a short term diversion which is fun to do from time to time.

Originally posted by ShrillyOriginally posted by Kyleran Well so far it has several changes that are much anticipated by the greater fan base.... but not by me so much. I was not a fan of GW1, I remain skeptical that a 'real' MMORPG can be delivered with the B2P model, I enjoy playing healers and trinity style class distinction and I enjoy MMO's that reward players for things besides twitch skills. (Because I don't have any). So like I said, might not be a game for me, but I wasn't dissing the game. I will wait until NEXT year before I decide what game to play that was released this year. Ask me in 2012 what 2011 MMO game I am playing. |

Originally posted by Kyleran I'd rather be rewarded for twitch skills than the amount of time I sink into the game. I'm not saying twitch skills are or aren't the way to go, but what I appreciate the most about Guild Wars is a focus away from leveling and raiding for equipment. There's certainly no reason to get excited about a game just because others are. I'm curious what things are players typically rewarded for other than sinking in time? Twitch skills of course and I could also see social skills in a game like Eve. Aside from that most MMOs are a pretty basic affair to play. |

let me take the pessimistic point of view: ArchAge: do you remember Vanguard? great concept but at the end, too many theme-park paradigms (yes, i did survive this terrible launch, thats not the point). GW2: what if they fail to implement dynamic events really revolutionary and at the end they are just the better public quests or rifts? TSW: i dont know enough about this game, but it seems to come out of the sandbox corner, which means nothing (see ArchAge) WoD: i just know one trailer and its CCP. is CCP enough for a good game? TERA: aimed combat does not solve the issues of the modern MMO. whats about the 90% rest? all i saw about these 90% have been the same old mistakes. SWTOR: i expect a great single-player game. 8 games in one box, thats a great price. with all MMO-features. but all features alone, does not make a MMO. Copernicus: who the hell mentioned that one? we know even less about it than about WoD so i would be more than happy, if i could at least play ONE of these games "longer than the free month". played: Everquest I (6 years), EVE (3 years) |

World of Darkness is the one I'm most looking forward to, though it is probably going to be quite a while before it comes out. I'm also looking forward to Archeage, and to a lesser extent, The Secret World and Dawntide. Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned. |

Archeage looks interesting - I really liked Aion up until when rifting got nerfed. If Archeage matches Aions beauty and addresses all the problems that Aion had in terms of faction imbalance, PvPvE, combat balance - then it could be awesome.

Planetside 2 is the only game im looking forward to, though im sceptical if ill be able to play it like i can the first with my 200 ping, but this is SOE, and they can can code...just not security. its one of few MMO's coming out that does things differently...and by different i mean the same as the first one(One of few true MMOFPS'). 100% PvP, skill based action combat, no instanced PvP, with some RPG elements to it. +1000 players per fight. umm...cant wait. i think the only 3 big title for me is GW2, ArcheAge and SWTOR but SWTOR is probably last on the list not too sure about TSW
i think Tera could be good, but i cant say much as i have not been following them since they announced Beta So What Now? |
