Now they have shown their true colors. I was working abroad, had to "stop" playing for a while after 3.5 long years of paying to play the game. As i left, i couldnt see what was happening in the game itself. Now, after long long time working and the project is finally over, i came back and i tried to log in. My account wasnt responding so i turned on my alt. Now, a shock. My "main" was active while i was away... Someone managed to gain access to it just 1 month after i left. It was used and now, few months before i came back to active state someone transfered my character off the account to another account. At first i thought it would be that much of a problem, but now... uhhhh. First, i gave all the info to the ccp where they needed to see if im the guy who created the account etc., and 2 weeks passed since all info was checked that i gave them, real name, e-mail, credit card used, ip addreses, everything. They said, mmmmmh, we'll see, we need to check something more and guess what? I thought this was it, but no. After additional testing i got my account back but the character remains "stolen" and eventough they can see via credit card info who used and abused the account they still wont act. They keep mentioning eula eula eula, and i keep saying yes, eula was violated but they dont care about the little man no more... WoW has alot better reimbursment policy and EvE really hit the bottom with this. EvE online a big - and i hope that future players will have this in mind when they choose a game to subscript to. |

Now that it happened to me im trying my best to deal with it. But its up to ccp and their gm's to do the rest and they are not willing to do so it seems. Im sad about it, but whats here is here. Im gonna keep posting about their inability to solve these kind of matters switly and quickly by just doing simple tests (credit card info now and before etc...) I just want to give a big warning to future players, i dont care if someone sees it as a negative advertisment. Its real, it can happen to anyone i guess. |

Well I experienced some bad stuff to with EVE's customers service, but nevertheless I think that this is one of those special cases of which me neither would have any clue about how to respond. Reimbursement has been made on my account a couple times before, so that itself shouldnt be the problem. Perhaps, they don't got the 3.5 year old data anymore. At least, there is something they are not telling you but I have no idea what. Still, I suggest you to come play with us again. The game has changed dramatically the last couple of years in a good way.

Hi Lars! Well, neither would i know how to deal with this, in an instant, if i were the gamemaster. But after filling out multiple request and after establishing who is who, they just didnt want to move ahead and do whats needed to be done. Im appaled by their innability to actually process scaming in EvE. This really needs to be sticked so that the new players who might arrive know that ccp wont be any user friendly if it comes to this kind of mess. |

I think that people get too attached to online characters. Frankly, if you quite playing 3 and 1/2 years it would seem that coming back to even play would or should not be that big a deal. Now if the people that "stole" your character used your credit card info to pay for it, that would be another matter. As someone once told me.....it's only pixels. Let's party like it is 1863! |

CCP gave me the finger as well when my account was hacked and I caught it within minutes of it happening. They had all the transaction information as items were moved off my characters and property liquidated but did not give a flip. They did nothing but lecture me on account safetly. In a world where players are getting their accounts hacked even with the stupid key righ generators these companies are selling us no developer better tell me that my computer isn't safe. How about your software sucks? At any rate, I feel for you man. I still have my character but lost about a billion in ISK worth of items. For you, that is a lot of skill training and that is what is unique about EvE characters. Any other game and I would agree, don't get attached. You can get back up to the level cap in a month or so. With EvE... all that time lost. Dude, I would be pissed too. |

Also the very base of this is that someone wronged the OP and stole from him and that situation is untolerable and amends should be made, period, imo. The character should be returned to him with anything new the person who stole it obtained, then the person who stole it should be banned for life from any CCP game. That is my view at least. |

This is why I think companies like CCP. Blizzard, etc should allow total deletion of accounts when leaving. Sure people might want to come back or they might accidentally delete them, but undelete solutions may be offered and once genuinely deleted, a leaver can have peace of mind that it will be more difficult for a hacker to get those mains and alts unless they know the specifics to get in, and if a short period of time has passed the undeletion is not possible. Peace of mind goes a long way. ![]() |

Why didn't you just keep subbing while you're busy with your project...?
