I played from early 2000 to 2006ish. I had several 126's on Darktide and Morningthaw. Would it be possible to reactivate my account and just keep going? ...or better to just start over cause the gear has improved so much over the years. I just remember the ungodly amount of time to aquire most of the items on those characters.

Or should i bother?

Ive spent years looking for a game that even comes close to the greatness that was AC. I cant find one. Then it dawned on me. Why not try it again...but, what if its not the same. Is it? Am i going to kill the memory by wandering through empty towns? Not get the high end quest because I cant get a large group together? Is it going to take me 5 years to get up to par to compete in pvp again?

Ive tried to look up a few fan sites to get more info, but alas, i havent found much. 5 years later I still remember thejackcat site, but its dated and all but abandoned. All old clan sites i had any association with have been abandoned as well. Thats kinda why im still on the fence about the whole thing. Who knows. Any help/info is appreciated.

You can migrate your account...

1) Goto http://support.turbine.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=24001&task=ticket

2) For Game select "AC"

3) For Support Team select "AC Paid Services"

4) For Request Type select "Migration"

5) You'll need to enter your old Zone login, your world, and a character name.

Be warned, it will take them a couple of weeks to respond and reactivate your account.

As for fan sites, http://asheron.info is the best site now.

To give an update. They reactivated my old account. It only took them about 3 days to get it all sorted out. I started back out in morningthaw to get myself reassociated with how much has changed (and how it has). Its much easier to level. Alot of the quest have been updated and expanded to current day armor levels, as well as xp upgrades. Ive had a blast learning all the new tactics and quests. My brain hurts with all the information ive been trying to catch up on, but it didnt take long to get back into the swing of things. I started some new characters just to get the experience of the changes and to retrain myself what was what but it doesnt take long. Spent most of my first week just simply revisiting old towns to see them. The town network is an added bonus, alot easier to get from point to point. No longer are the days of sitting in up for hours spamming for a "portal to teth"

After a week or so on MT, i decided to try out Darktide again. That was my first love of AC anyhow. Always wanting to make a war mage there so i started over. Still having my old characters there, unbuffed, unprotected, and sitting in an abandoned housing section i figured i best start new and get a house with the new character before moving them to a cottage to "remule" all the leftover items. Ive been told of the scarce populations and noone to fight, noone to do quest with...Boy were they wrong. Within about 2 minutes of my new character hitting the pk world i was stabbed in the face by a welcoming committee. Some things never change. Since then, ive leveled that mage to almost 100, joined a very helpful alliance. Been on numerous quest with many new friends. Its been a blast.

Anyone feeling the urge to check it out again should, theres plenty of people still playing, and ALOT more to do. Yeah, its not the pretty, fluffy, eye candy of nowadays, but.... I spent many years looking for the AC experience with all the pretty new top notch graphic engines. I couldnt find it in anything but AC.

Great that your having good fun. AC was one my top favorites, right below EQ1.  I quit in 09 and had 4 level 260+ characters and several 170+. The main reason I quit was lack of players during the time I played. Also it got tiring being a hoarder, soon you will run into this. I had 7 accounts just to hold mules for salvages and armor sets and dark isle stuff. I had everything and anything you could ever want. Had 2 max trade skill players for all the imbuing needs and cooking, alchemy. All maxed skills and augs. This game will wear you down with the amount of gear and loots you will rack up. No kidding my brain hurts now just thinking about it, I had to keep a spreadsheet database just to remember where everything was.

AC very loot dependent game, if you need any tips ask me. Boy I still miss it too, wish I never sold all my accounts. I guess it was a good thing though, I mean it got me off the hoarding addiction.
