To be fair, there aren't that many other Unreal Engine MMOs out there. Mainly because It's too much of a resource hog to develop on a large scale.

If they were real programmers with any sort of skill they would have known that, and if they had any sort of skill they wouldn't be tied down to Unreal because that was the only language they knew. Real programmers can pick up any language and master it within a short period of time.

 If one is really good programmer, I mean really good, he can certainly make a game from scratch without buy any engine, and he will do it in a week or so, if he is super good. But I can tell you such programmer is yet to be born.

I think users of MO would be happy with one that could code a decent patcher in 18 months, never mind a game. They have had years to code the basics and they have failed miserably. They are inept, and they (and their supporters) are clutching at straws in blaming a successful company that releases a quality product (Epic).

 The patcher is ok, I never had problem with it. The only one that had problem with it seems to be those who don't use it, like you.

Minecraft was developed for about a week before its public release on May 17, 2009 on the TIGSource forums, where it gained a considerable level of popularity. It has been continually updated and patched since then, and while it was still in alpha release, it garnered several hundred thousand sales and received critical notice and acclaim from many reviewers. It passed a million units sold on January 12, 2011,[5][6] less than a month after reaching Beta.

Yes, no one has troubles with the patcher, everything is ok. There are not multiple threads on the MO forums about it and no players had to upload a torrent to PirateBay in order for people to get the client. No players went from 5kbs average to 400kb+ once they stopped using the patcher.

 You know PC supporter technicians used to have some jokes about a customer who complained about a dead new computer, he pushed all the buttons but the pc was still silient, the screen black. The technician, after all the suggestions including checking the power cable, gave up and told the customer to take notes of the serie number at back of the computer and prepare to fill the blanket for returning the pc. The customer told the technician that  he could read the number because there was power outage.

The point is you never know how you can be sure of your customers' technical knowledge.

 ROFL.. what "technical knowledge" should be required to use the launcher?  If it is working correctly all the user has to do is click on it.

In fact you need quite a lot knowledge to find why it did not work. Since It the launch works just fine for me, some one has to convince me that he really has a problem. remote assistens for example could be used to get help.

I am waiting for your story. So get into the game quickly. It is up now.

I posted links to people having problems from the first half dozen threads on the MO board. But hey, you knew about those threads anyway. You posted in some of them.

A player should be able to click launch on his client and have his game patched automatically, not have to use a seperate program to link to a player-made file on a third party web site. That is the definition of a failed patcher system.

 

You can choose to be blind and not see what the vast majority of current MO players see if you choose, doesn't make you right and the evidence is against you.

Im really interested in this game, i know its struggling a bit, well sv are anyway, but i really want to see it as it is now, from the start, cant play it until end of next week building a pc and waiting for parts, but a videa would be nice keep us posted.

Ex. myth of soma, legend of mir, mu online and eudemons online player.

Current game : Runescape (until pc build is complete)

Sorry to hear that. I know some people have problems but no one seems to know what exact is the root of the problem. SV had confirmed once that the service provider had capacity problems but that was corrected.

Maybe you should check your internet connection etc also and at the same time write a support request on MOFO?

By the way, you may test your intenet speed using this site http://www.speedtest.net/. Try to find a server near Stockholm, Sweden, because it is the place game servers are located, I believe.

 It's not people's internet connection, it's SVs patcher server.
