It’s a shame that this game, which is actually quite good, is in the hands of such incompetent people as G1. 

I had tons of fun playing this game. It's unique in that you can have 3 characters at once and that you can recruit a whole bunch of NPCs into your "family". This kind of brings a card collecting element to the game as well. The music is absolutely superb and the action is is constant. There are also several different types of games like Team Arena, instanced quests, dungeons and yes, also a lot of grinding.

But all this is overshadowed by the inability of Gamers First to keep those servers up. I for one have grown to accept that if the server goes down after 6PM EST, it's NOT going to be back up again the same day. Not only that, but the server outages are constant and getting more and more frequent. So far the one that took the cake, is the one that happened the day before Christmas Eve. While every other game out there is doing Christmas specials, the players of Sword2 got a Christmas Eve Server Outage. What fun! And as I'm writing this, the servers have been down for over 12 hours. I also seriously doubt they will be up until the day after Christmas, though I wish for once they would prove me wrong.

To sum things up, this is a great game, but the staff of Gamers First unfortunately had taken the levels of incompetence in managing this game to new lows. It would be great if they either got their act together, or if someone who is a little competent would pick this game up.

Usually I would Reply to topics like this one, as if the Poster, had just barely played the game, but sadly, I got to agree with the Topic Creator, most of the Mods and GMs, are like Beheaded Chickens, since when One Single Admnistrator goes to take care of another game, they let things go down the Pipe....

Good Luck to all Sword 2 Players, and God Prove Me Wrong, but I think Im gonna need to start playing at Another Server, if I want to keep playing.

I'm tempted to try sGE but I'm not eager to build up a family from scratch again.  Hope our accounts on Bristia are ok.  At least the people on Illier should be able to play.

I've totally washed my hands of Sword2 in favor of sGE. ( I was playing them both for some months now off and on)  G1 is a horrible company and I feel sorry for all the people excited about APB.  They talk bad about IAH (the ones running sGE).  They are a far better handler of the game though.  I get disconnected maybe twice a week from sGE servers.  With Sword2 I was lucky if I got DC'd only twice a day.  Sword2 has the cheaper Cash Shop prices, and that's pretty much it as far as Pro vs Cons for sGE versus Sword2.  IAH GE site is 100 times better then G1's Sword 2.  IAH sGE gets patches first, they are already on 5.0 while Sword2 will be lucky if they get it by January.  Hell IAH is taking beta testers for 6.3 patch already. sGE has a far better population then Sword2.  Meaning the economy is alot healthier.  Things that cost me around 1billion in Sword2 I can get on my sGE server for around 150mil.  I could go on more about why sGE is better, but there really is no need.  Starting over is actually pretty easy, even more so if you aren't afraid to use the Cash Shop to make a large influx of money.

IAH sGE > G1 Sword 2.

Too much QQ in this thread. Sword2 is still decent enough to play. There is almost always compensation for the downtime so I look forward to some free stuff from G1. Good luck getting free stuff from sGE. There is absolutely no reason to switch over to sGE and do the whole 3 year grind again. The last time I played sGE it was overrun with bots. That is why the market is so cheap anyway. The grass isn't any greener over there but I guess people will do anything just to be spiteful.

Tell yourself whatever will help you sleep at night, champ.  Compenstation is only a problem when your game is run by incompetents. Just love that part about bots to.  Tells me all I need to know.  You probably either A) Haven't played sGE since shortly after its launch, B) Probably read/heard that somewhere.  Because we all know Sword2 has no bots right? You want to stick with G1 that's fine and good.  Trying to put them on the same level as IAH is laughable.   So how's that 5.0 patch going? Or how about those rewards for the Cash shop events they had.  Better yet how's the competention for those rewards they failed to inject. Oh yeah thats right they failed to inject the compensation to....

I'm with Roin on that....I'd rather not have compensation and have a game that runs well.

As much as I hate people who call DOOOOOOOOOOOOM all the time, I do find it quite worrisome that 

A) One of the servers has been down since before christmas eve

B) The ones that are running have zones that are simply closed

C) The Cash shop was down until last night

D) the forum is still down

E) GamersFirst Cards have apperently been discontinued (this I cannot confirm 100% but it's the info I got)

None of this looks good. And I hope I'm wrong because I do love this game....

@ Roin: how do you get to buy gold for SGE? To be completely honest it's that, and the fact I have a quite developed family that keep me at Sword2. But If things really are as bad as they seem to be right now, I probably will have to switch to SGE anyway. I know there is no chance of finding a game card for it in the US. But would I be able to buy gold with a regualr credit card or debit card?

A lot of good all that stuff is going to do you if they shut down the game....

So how about this: if they shut down the server, you can have all my stuff.

I use Offgamers.com  (www.offgamers.com)  Good site they cover alot of other games as well (even some US based games).  They have a good deal of payment options.  Another alternative would be MOL. (MoneyOnline - www.mol.com)

No...it only means that youreally  did not read my post.  If you did, you didn't  understand what I was saying.

I made my post because I was (and still am) flabergasted not only because the game had such a prolonged outage in all times, at christmas. I was also shoked by the response, or should I say lack of response that Gamers First gave everyone.

It really looked, and to me, it still does look that if anything G1 itself is trying to bury the game. And if it does since I do like the game so much I am exploring other options.

I hope you get this, because I'm all out of Troll Food.

It's not a bad game once you've gotten the hang of it. Just give it a chance to see whether you like it or not.

Funny update. sGE expected to get 6.3 on Jan 27th.  How's that 5.0 patch working out for you, Novusod?

Edit: Even though I haven't logged into Sword, I did today for a laugh.  Gave away 200 EJ's to some random person about 5 mins ago on Op.  Another 200 to guild friend.  Still debating on what to do with the characters or gear.  Havent decided if I'm going to let them rot or sell them off then give away the vis.  Might just let them sit and rot.  I would have to spend far too much time in-game to get rid of them all.  Though I know BSI/ETS/STF/Claire would go pretty fast. *shrug* Just not worth the effort.
