This is the worst software company i have ever seen... 12 hrs down and downtime looks like it will last for another 12 hrs or more..

For christ sakes.. this is a P2P game on the market. SOE look like nubs in the MMORPG market.. makes me puke for having spent cash on eq2 and my time on it too.

Why dont they just rollback or whatever ? Me and loads of friends of mine are totally Qissed off with this crap.

But this is an online game and shit happens. One would think that SOE would have a backupplan for this. How ever /crying about it wount help. We are getting all of our debit removed but other then that i feel that SOE needs to work out this things b4 the put a Fix live.

Ya i played AO too.. was a Doctor 175 there. I left a lil after Shadow Lands cos AO was buggy as hell and quite laggy.

If you dont like to pay for Xpansions dont play AO either.. cos they are like SOE in that. You either pay for expansions or you will stay behind unable to acess new areas, new skills, new weapons etc. FunCom are another bloodsuckers Software company.. at least they dont have a game down for the whole weekend like seems this will be the case tho. 

I must say this is a pathetic moment for Sony.

No point in rubbing it in, but downtimes for WoW are about 2 hours, and the most recent have just ben server restarts....

I juhst loged on to the Create caracter page in the game. And there i my car. Edakai was standing in the login section. LvL 20 tho and with my old clothes/staff on.. Thats more of a rollback then from the last downtime.

but nonetheless, I do think it's a terrible action on SOE's part. They should have done incriments, instead of a freaking whole 24 hours..

SOE is not incomptent and you can't have a back up plan for ever possible scenario.  Dealing with software myself I know the frustration of introducing something into your already running code and having it back fire even though test runs ran smoothly.  The fact Sony is Giving us refunds on the time we're missing and wiping all our XP debt which I know for some folks can be rather hefty, shows they aren't out to JUST eat our money.  Maybe the Production company is but the developers are not.

When designing software you always make a list of possible problems and solutions of how to handle them.  But you can't take into account for everything. 

If you think that you can please by all means go learn to program software, build a really huge HUGE HUGE like thousands of pages of code piece of software and tell me you figured out ahead of time everything that can go wrong.

And no im not a fanboi.  or a Fangirl. 

I bet the people hating soe or dissing them dont even play eq2
