Hey guys, I broke this...anyone know how to fix it? |
Elizabeth Warren will be named as special advisor to the President, and lead in the Consumer Protection Agency (CPA). http://blogs.abcnews.com
Warren would have been my pick as well. Perfect choice Obama!
Fire up the Elizabeth Warren hate-machine, nutters. Just remember, she (like many others) was a republican before she started studying the facts |

Originally posted by xpowderx I see you lack a healthy fear of Elizabeth Warren. You should get yourself educated. This choice alone gets Obama re-elected. |

Elizabeth Warren's current economic position is very socialist. She does understand the base problems, but has come to a different conclusion on how to deal with it. Where most economists believe we should not be aiding businesses with public sector money, while also making the regulations on businesses more streamlined and cost effective. She has the viewpoint that we should give public sector money to businesses and as a result have the right to change the way they operate. That is a very socialist approach and has consistently in the past proved to not work. |

When in doubt, add another layer of bureaucracy to the government. How many more billions is this going to add the federal budget each year? Luckily we have plenty of money for it. Consumer protection, huh? Thank God we have the government to look out for us because we consumers are too stupid to make our own choices and think for ourselves. And because we are so dumb, consumers have been fleeced by businesses since the founding of this country. Why didn't someone think of this sooner? Elizabeth Warren must be smarter than the average consumer. I'm ready to surrender all my decision making to her and let her make the right decisions for me. Where would we be without the government to protect us all. Our surrogate father. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tK6YIAX1jg |

Originally posted by sif-lawd Yeah, well, maybe if members of the SEC were more concerned about doing their jobs rather than downloading porn onto government computers, they may have actually been serving the people instead of themselves. Now it looks like we're going to get an entire new government agency to download porn onto their computers. I'll tell ya what, we should elect Christine O'Donnell to the Senate just so she can clean up the SEC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tK6YIAX1jg |

Originally posted by Zindaihas If this is your angle, it falls flat on it's face. You're trying to paint the consumer protection agency as a restrction on choices, as if consumers would actually choose to be hornswaggled. No choices are being eliminated by the CPA. What the CPA will do is ensure consumers understand the choice they're making. Maybe you don't need a consumer protection agency. To be honest, I don't either. I'm in full support of the CPA because we have very clear data showing that one is sorely needed. |

Originally posted by DailyBuzz No, he is pointing out that we already have rules and regulations in place. It's just that they were not enforced or (thank Clinton) several rules and regulations were removed. It's like immigration reform, financial reform, healthcare reform and all these other reforms. In most cases we don't need reform we need the rules and regulations to actually be enforced. In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect. |

Originally posted by seabass2003 And those regulations were good for their time. That time has since passed. Considering the amount of R&D that goes into fleecing the American consumer with ambiguous financial impliments, current regulations are equivalent to bringing a knife to a gunfight. We need an agency that can evolve with changing markets. Elizabeth Warren will create such an agency, which is why she'll get monumental pushback from republicans (and some self-interested democrats).
You are either on the side of Elizabeth Warren and the American people, or you're in favor of destroying America. Make your choice. |

This is an illogical statement since they are one and the same. Continued expansive government is what's destroying America and Elizabeth Warren is going to grow government even further. She is going to do it in the name of the American people, but, in truth, it's going to be done at the expense of the American people. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tK6YIAX1jg |

Originally posted by DailyBuzz This is such classic liberal elitism. Notice in my post, I said "we". So you're saying that you're savvy enough to keep from being duped from those evil coporate rapists, but most simple-minded Americans aren't? You're just looking out for the idiots. That's awfully compassionate of you. Especially considering you are willing to use other American's tax dollars to do it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tK6YIAX1jg |
