Levels 1 - 20 were a breeze. Lots of fun, leveled quickly, really enjoyed the game. Now at level 24 it has slowed down. It's down to a crawl. Blizzard got me good. They hooked me in and now the grinding starts. I'm hoping this is just a little bump in the road, but I think this was their plan from the start. Before, they gave quests which were easy to normal and one or two hard ones. Now, all quests are very hard and you can't solo any of them except one or two. WoW is boring now. It took me 4 months to be slightly bored with City of Heroes. Blizzard did it in a week. I sure hope this is just a temp thing. I just want to have fun. |

you're sposed to pair/team up with peeps to do most norm quests (apart from the kill x mobs and collect x item drops quests). Also do instances. They are fun (you'll need a group). If you're completely solo go around looking for the kill x mobs and collect x item drops quests. Never slowed down for me.

If you solok it is going to grind. Above lvl 20, you need to get into a good guild and start grouping. We already have many players in the guild over lvl 30.

I HIGHLY suggest you follow the advice above and find a good guild or at least make some good friends you can group with. Makes ALL the difference in the world. It is a MMO after all... |

I don't see how anyone can be bored of WoW in a week. So sure, it took you a week to get bored with 1 RACE!!! Start another race! Do the quests in that race. Heck you might even realize the community in the other race is a lot cooler and has less immature 13 year old players (Such as the Horde). :)

After lvl. 20 is when the PvP starts (if you do that) and when grouping becomes necessary.

Just another grinder, same old thing. Nothing new for MMORPG.

The WoW grind is practically nothing compared to Lin II or FFXI. I am not saying that it is too easy, but it really is meant to be easier than most mmos. ----------------- "The Job Of Art Is To Chase Away Ugliness" - Bono "Whoever controls the media controls the mind..-'Jim Morrison" "When decorum is repression, the only dignity free men have is to speak out." ~Abbie Hoffman |

World of Warcraft does not introduce anything new. It only improves on everything already out there, but does so in a way that makes it FUN to go out and kill enemies in a seemingly endless line of carnage. Personally, I play it because the quests are so interesting, I have little interest in killing 100+ mobs unless there's a good purpose behind it. The quests make me feel like I'm actually DOING something rather than just sending byte x to server y so server y can give me item z. Also, all MMORPGs are grindfests, there's no way around it. Otherwise, people would quit the game after a month or two because they've all hit the top level. They're designed to be played for a long time and still have content for you to explore, more levels to gain, etc... But in the end what matters is if you have FUN grinding, or it's just senseless and mindless. |

WTF? What level/race are you? My Night Elf Rogue is 24 and is currently doing quests in duskwood. I'm actually leveling FASTER now than I was in my late teens. Cry more... |

All MMORPGs are a grind. If you don't want to grind, go play an FPS: a game that actually requires skill and perhaps even *gasp* talent. MMORPGs are entirely too easy to play, therefore there has to be some type of system to keep people playing. This system is giving them abilities for doing more things in the gameworld. Pretty much, the game eats your time, and if you chose to feed it right during the time you're feeding it, it rewards you. MMORPGs are timesinks by definition. |

Seriously, if you don't like gaining levels and working on your character to make him more powerful over time and so on; please get the fuck out of the MMO genre, you obviously don't enjoy the same style of game. I hope this isn't sounding mean, but there's a reason why we play these games, we enjoy a certain element of progress and becoming better and better as you go on, not having everything handed to you from day 1. If this isn't to your liking, then see ya and you're dearly missed- well, not really.

There is usually 2-4 areas of the same level mobs and quests, so if your stuck in one area, go to another. Just hitting lvl 30 on my rogue im done with all my quests in duskwood, can't go to the next area cuz everything there is slightly too high, ashenvale is overrun with horde on my server(PvP), so my obvious choice was wetlands. I guess i can probably get 2-4 levels there until im done. Then I go back to the next area from duskwood(stranglethorn vale i beleive it was).

Can we keep the good tone in here please.....
The developers of WoW never mentioned that you can solo throiugh the whole game as an average player, so find some ppl and have some fun doing tough quests or killing mobs =) |

I've grinded my way through many RPGs, and I sure hope it won't happen to me in WoW. But so far I've really enjoyed WoW. And I know that in MMO's the players make all the difference. Do not play an MMO on your own! Its not an MMO for nothing! So, stop grinding, find yourself another area to fight in (delete all your quests from this area. They'll still be available to your later. The NPC will just give them again) and go find some nice people to play with! Cheers, _____ |

I'm a lvl. 27 undead warlock and have many quests. The trick is not staying in the same zone (I'm currently questing in T. Needles and Hillsbrad F.)

LOL, thank you for pointing out the pure definition of grinding. As for other posts, I started doing quests in other zones until I get some of the old quests to green. Thanks for some of the advice. As for grouping, it's more frustration than fun. Just today, I was killing trolls, gnolls, or whatever have you, and a gnome asked me to join up with her. I said sure. Next thing I know, I'm fighting everything while this person is looting everything, and she's 3 levels higher than me. I asked the gnome, "Excuse me, you do understand that you were just looting and not fighting at all." No answer. I quit the team. I've just had some bad experiences grouping in this game. More so than other MMORPG's. Maybe it's just bad luck. |

Maybe you should have asked him to change the looting options or quit the group. It's not really rocket science. ----------------------------------

You assume there were more than two people in the group. Your assumption is wrong. Why would I have her quit the group if there are only two of us. Secondly, why would I keep fighting mobs and have her stand there and watch? How would changing loot options help me in this instance? I do the work and get half the xp? You're right, it's not rocket science. Maybe you should read my post a little more carefully. |
