If I could ask one question of the developers it would be, "What happens after the story is over?". |

Originally posted by UsualSuspect Isn't that the same question for any MMO as asking what do I do when I hit max level? That's where the typical MMO endgame comes in I would think. What that is for TOR remains to be seen, but all we know is they will have it. "If you're going to act like a noob, I'll treat you like one." -Caskio Adventurers wear fancy pants!!! |

Originally posted by Ihmotepp That was because they were very boring, grindy and static. kill/gather 50 of this stuff, then kill/gather 20 if that harder stuff, then kill this boss. wash rinse repeat.
GW2 promises something different. Lets see if their asses can cash the checks their mouths wrote. |

Originally posted by UsualSuspect They actually answered that in the video. First, they want you to play alts. The story is different for each character, and hugely different for Empire vs Republic. Empire and Republic have zero shared quests. Same side has different character class quests for each class, but they share world quests. In KOTOR for example, I played through twice, once as dark side, and once as light side, since the story was different. the other answer is, expansion packs. They already said they are designing the game to allow for expansion packs, so no dead end stories. |

It's just so comical how excited your are about this game as a pro-grouper, Ihmotepp. Too bad!

Some people grasp what the Bioware devs are trying to say when they've no reason to think they're lying, and don't just go with some vague gut feeling. The ACTUAL size of MMORPG worlds: a comparison list between MMO's |

Originally posted by Hyanmen From the way they were talking about it, it sounds like those Planet Quests are going to be group only, they say "Like dungeons in normal MMO's.", so that's a +1 to TOR for me, though I remain wary. I think the story is going to be the only thing worth advancing for, that the end game is basically going to be, "Game Over - Start Again With A New Class!". |

Forced grouping (maybe to do planets) and a cash shop (that they have neither confirmed or denied). This all sounds like speculation so far. Im hoping for a sub based solo friendly experience with no CS myself but will watch and wait. |

Originally posted by Czzarre If you're convinced that WoW, LotrO as PvP as it is now, EVE, AoC, Aion and EQ2 have a cash shop or microtransactions, then yes, then we're living in a time where microtransactions are common. The ACTUAL size of MMORPG worlds: a comparison list between MMO's |

For casuals its prolly great game. but i think it will be crap like dragon age, easy(nightmare was no challenge at all) and rippoff(lord of the rings). Same will happen with swtor two things why it will be crap super easy and copyed most things from other themeparks already on market only diffrence is sci fi starwars setting. Story will not help make it any better maybe a little hehe. |

i would like to know where u read that ToR is going to have microtransactions.. i did not see that yet. i did read that WoW is seriously considering going F2P, with the "store" model. they were discussing that in an interview when the were asked about the upcoming competition of LoTR going F2P and the upcoming releases of dcuo, final fantasy, GW2, and of course ToR. i sincerly hope the F2P doesnt become the norm, but unfortunately i think u r right in fearing that it is... |

We won't know until release, but if it's as good as KOTOR, I would actually play some of it solo. KOTOR after all was a single player game, and I played through it twice. WoW, LOTRO? I wouldn't play those for 5 mintues solo. I would fall off of my chair asleep. |

Originally posted by knyghttearer When DDO went F2P I figured, and still do, that it was a desperate measure to save the game. But with LOTRO and the talk of more games doing so it now falls to the players to either support these games or not. Sadly most will pay what devs are asking for the quality that they offer and it will become the norm. Its not just MMO's either. Look at the DLC that was released for Dragon Age so soon after the game released. Devs are now more interested in creating cash shop content than game content. |

TOR will be the greatest single player MMO ever. So why pay a sub? May as well be F2P, otherwise its a private server for me. Thats if I dont "beat it" in the first month. |

I think all games are headed to some sort of sub model, even single player. That's why developers are working so hard on the cloud technology. You can't pirate the cloud, you can't give your old game from teh cloud to your buddy to play. |
