EQ did include a CD playback feature in one of their upgrades but I never tried it out. SOE better make MORE than ONE battle music theme. It gets so tedious listening to the same music over and over again when you are in battle a lot of the time(Excluding Artisans who complain about the regular music which also sucks) ::Revan::Yordo:: |

There was a question about this on an interview a little while back and they said that the MP3 player will not be available inside of EQ2. We will have to go back to playing it in the background

I think it would be kinda cool to set up a mp3 player like in GTA. Then you could transfer Mp3's in to a file in your directory and be able to play them in game. Would not really need a player display it would just play the tracks in the order that they appear in the file or just randomly played what was in the file.

OK listen up kids, Musical score is just as important as the orginal gameplay or mechanics, and your probably right, the mmog now adays have much better music then the Everquest, allow me to answer that for you...
BECAUSE EQ IS FIVE FRIKEN YEARS OLD>>>>>>crap some of you piss me off Trust me, i know the score for EQII is going to be the $hit of legends, and if you have issuse with that, then feel free at anytime to hit" /mp3 <file directory><title> and play until your hearts content or your ass hurts from sitting. |

Actually EQ made some big changes to its music with the Planes of Power expansion that were really good imo. They added a couple new combat sound tracks that were randomly picked from each time you attacked something and I thought they were well done, as were the the zone sound tracks like Nightmare. It was also durring that expansion that they switched to MP3 formats for their new music files. I am sure EQ2 will have put a considerable bit of effort into its sound effects and music considering they hadded 135 hours of voiceovers alone. |

How much focus is there on the audio side of the game? Sites: One thing that's nice is that on EQ we had three people on our audio team. Now we have an entire audio department. Which means full audio, 5.1 surround sound support. How about other advances such as voice comms? Sites: We're going to be allowing voice comms although we haven't fully integrated it yet. The only problem we see with it is obviously with the players. With real voices you'll interact with a female wood elf and quickly realise it's a forty-five year old guy. It's kind of immersion breaking. |
