Revenge is a dish best served with mayonnaise and those little cheesy things on sticks. |

Futurama: Bender's Game was on Comedy Central last night. The Demolition Derby in the beginning had two Lego "cars" smash into each other. It looked like super mad fun. I hope they have something like that in this game.

I would just like to know where they are getting their marketing strategy from? The segment of the population they are going for has little disposable income, basically whatever their parents provide. A lot of parents have issues with the online world for kids or should have too. I just don't see how they are going to make a profit in such a crowded marketplace. Seems like a very risky investment even with the lego name behind it. |

Originally posted by Ozmodan answered your own question there: 1. if your income comes from parents it's all disposable 2. a parent with issues concerning online worlds is more likely to cave if it's something as tame as legos if it looks like a kids game to you, it probably also looks like a kids game to the parents, and they are the ones paying for this. |

even then. this game's situation can get a little bit tricky with the subs it's obvious that this game is targeted to the 9-17 yo groups of gamers, maybe i wouldn't be surprised to see a Hardcore gamers that play WoW, or other heavy MMO will play this as well but i just can't see how long they will last with those groups of players sure, their parents are the ones paying for them, i dont see them able to pay the subs by themselfes yet but how long do you think the parents are gonna pay for them? the minute those kids starts to get addicted and kept bitching their parents to pay the subs, do you think the parents are just gonna kept paying knowing that their child are getting sucked into the MMO world? sure as hell they dont want their kids to turn into the Elitist Jerks, lol
but again, this is also just my speculation, i love LEGO, i play them when i was a kid i also want to see this MMO go successful, but imo, it's just hard if you release a game that is targeted for the lower ages audience, because eventually, they will only play it for a while before they move into the major MMO just take a look at Hello Kitty Online and the likes, i dont think they are making a profit at all
maybe someone can prove me wrong So What Now? |

Originally posted by TweFoju Kings Isle seems to be doing very well for themselves. Their game is marketed at the same demographic. If the game offers a lower monthly sub, like 10 bucks like Kings Isle, then I'd say they will have a pretty good chance at a good share of the market. Especially the adult MMO player who wants to share a game with his/her child.
The game seems interesting enough and the E3 video was pretty nice. You can design and build your very own lot and even give bricks special "characteristics". If you haven't seen the video, you may want to check it out. |
