Hint: all you hardware MMO nerds should get asap a SSD hard disk. I stumbled upon this thread and I was surprised no one even mentioned this. Transfer rates up to 500-700% faster than your standard 7200 rpm HD's. If it would take you 5 or more seconds to view all the (say 300 MByte) information after a "portal", with a SSD it would load in mili seconds. Seamless background loading will even more benifit from the fragmented data to load. 100 GB is quite affordable (400 dollars or less). I just ordered a new system because I couldn't stand the long loading times of SC2 anymore (on my fragmentated HD).

This is my rig 5-boxing some WoW. No, I don't wtfpwn in Stranglethorn Vale anymore. About 6 months of WoW was all I could take. Edit: I should clarify, its 2 rigs. Main (modded HP m8430f Media Center PC):
Alt PC:
Logitech G11 keyboard & Logitech MX Revolution mouse do the driving for both via router using Keyclone, Input Director and KaVoom! software.

This is my computer: Asus Nvidia 9800 gt 512mb AMD Athlon 5000 dual core 2,2 ghz 3 gb ram 2 hd, 80 gb for system, 250 gb for games both serial ata 19" standard monitor. Logitech speakers, common 2.1 ones but they sound nice. It's an average pc, runs averagely most games. Yeah the case is open, it's summer in malaga, south of spain, you open the case or it burns. And yeah this little thing is a fan throwing extra ventilation. The white thing is the router. Lava lamp, a gift from my girlfriend. Fairy over the coputer, another gift from same girlfriend :D. Colisseum of Rome, gift from a trip from my mother. Under the monitor a have game pad, common one. I have a racong wheel too but is not in the photo. -=AlaKraM=- |

Intel Core i7-980X Extreme Edition 12GB DDR3 1600 (2GB x 6) 2TB (1 x 2TB) SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 7200RPM HDD 4X Blu-Ray Drive Intel X58 Coolermaster 690II Advanced Gaming Case NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480
Nothing has really pulled it much under 60fps at the moment even at highest of high settings. Hoping DX11 will bring something that can really put this 2 grand to good use. |

Me, I'll dfinitely be jumping on the bandwagon, but I'm waiting for Intel's 25nm flash to hit the market first. Then I'll have a VRaptor for a data drive :) A Modest Proposal for MMORPGs: |
