LOL they didn't touch the Naboo legacy? I remember rolling the 3rd character (pre-9 unlocked account) and pulling hair at the naboo section, what retarded crap that was and I decided to join a grind group (on Kash at the time) until level 80 then went to do Musty then went back to Naboo for the Cobalt (sp?) quests.

When I joined the game in Jul 03, I went on a guild hunt on day 1, I joined a PvP battle on day 2. And could make meaningful contributions right away, while working on skills. Now? Ha.... They need to open a classic server or can the whole thing.... |

Just because some one played the game three years ago does not by default mean they can write the definitive commentary regarding the state of the game now. SWG still has more to offer than 90% of the POS MMOs on the market today. Not to mention is it not a theme park POS. Did the OP do any of the heroics? How about even attempting to do the PreQuests for heroics? How about the HOTH Heroic? Did he get a full 5pc heroic set of jewelery? Did he try all the combat profs? Did he try all the crafting professions? I totally fail to see how 30days in any real MMO could be enough to judge it. Maybe STO since you can complete that game in three weeks. |

I'm doing the trial now, I don't know how long i'll last. Doubtful it will be 12 more days, this game is really showing it's age. It's almost like a 2d game these days. The controls are really clumsy and it took me more than an hour to get a playable keymap. Targetting just doesn't work in this game period! It hasn't since CU. It laggs like a fat bitch and there's still bugs there since launch oh, 7 years ago! It's funny, i can drop into Dalaran in wow when there is 50 billion people and barely hit any lag, but i go to mos eisley where there is 10 people and i lag like a SOB. Fanbois will say it's my machine though...I'm up in space which is still pretty fun besides the tedious missions from the trainer. That's another thing, you never have to see a trainer in nge. I think that's wierd. You would think with the grind in SWG, sony would make you go way way out of your way to visit your trainer. I just can't stand the clumsyness and the unatural feel of the ground game. It's really a bad game, i don't understand how someone could pick up the trial and buy this crap? It actually takes an extreme amount of effort to learn how to make your character mobile. Then targetting is a whole other ballgame. Also when i got to level 6 or 8 i can't remember. The auto level ability deal gave me a crap load of droid commands on my toolbar. For a new player this is completely overwhelming and ridiculous. Tab to target is just completely random, it doesn't cycle out, or in, it's just random. and to target with a lock is just a complete chore. All galaxies are light or very light except for starsider which i actually saw hit extremly heavy the other night. I haven't seen bria even hit medium. OH, and i saw a guy wearing a mandalorian top section with hotpants mando boots and wings on his back, yes wings like off of a bird. I'm just shocked people pay for this game, i don't understand it at all. Everyone looks like they are in limbo from pre-nge, except for a few new content pieces everything looks exactly the same. There is so many better games out there than this broken relic. RIP |

The RP and character development was the best of any game. Now that I look back, I'm glad it failed because I got my life back.
And yes....if it came back tomorrow I'd play it . I miss it, and I miss my characters. |

To each their own, I suppose. I haven't really loved this game since the CU and before. The NGE was absolute sh*t and hasn't really evolved into much more than that. Anything they've done to the game aside from a wholehearted rollback isn't worth reviewing. Shocked that this game as 2 forums... 1 for Vets and 1 for current players. Interesting.

I was a master-ranger-rifleman: one of the most gimp characters in pre-CU SWG, but my hides sold to armorsmiths were the most valuable items in the game. My master ranger camps were awesome. You know in the old ranger forums, all we were asking was the ability for entertainers to be able to reduce fatigue inside the boundaries of a ranger camp; not an unreasonable request. People figured out how to grind professions to get jedi. Everyone I knew, the armorsmith I sold hides to, my own real life brother, disappeared into the jedi-grind. One day my brother showed me how to get experience real fast to grind professions (jedi-grind), we sat down for a couple hours while we used the Image Designer exploit. I was bored out of my mind. I unsubscribed the same day. I saw this type of grinding behavior in Everquest 1, now in WOW, I am not interested in that type of gaming; it's a big turn off to me. That is why I left. Last year I found out my brother bought gold for SWG. pathetic. I knew he was lazy, didn't know he was THAT lazy. |

Originally posted by Nerf09 I had worked my butt off to become a commando. i wanted to use a flamethrower. do you have any idea how long it took to grind through unarmed? zooooomg but i did it! and then wham, bam, thank you ma'am the game became something altogether different. I still miss my twi'lek chick in full composite armor that i had to get stupid buffs to even equip lol. i miss my pal having on a full set of storm trooper armor only to die and come back to life as covert lol, i couldn't get over that he was in full storm trooper regailia yet no one could figure out he was working for the empire.... and i miss getting a random mission to go miles out into the desert of tattooine to find a random hovel with 2 or 3 rebels hanging around it and killing all of them mercilessly despite how absurd it was that that mound held any strategic value whatsoever. Good times... |

lol back in the days I had a dedicated Krayt hunter, master commando and novice medic and novice dancer to work off my wounds after the battles. The flamethrower and launcher pistol were badass, and having 8 different flamethrowers made Krayt hunting solo doable without being a Jedi. |
