Originally posted by Ravik The player population was quite healthy a few years back after Virtrium took over. And by then all of the really bad performance issues had been resolved. The game was still a massive memory hog, but the leaks seemed to have been fixed and it was playable - which wasn't true the previous times I'd tried to play it. The guild I was in was very active and there were always players buzzing about, especially in the starting area. I was really enjoying it, getting right into building a positively awesome lair I'd designed which used almost no corridor space - you wouldn't believe the storage capacity on that design - but then had a disagreement with Virtrium about their permissive treatment of offensive behaviour, which led me to cancel my sub. I kept in touch with some former guildies for a while and it seemed the population seemed to start dwindling not long after I left. I wasn't around to see what caused folk to trickle away. Maybe there was a brief spark of interest when the new owners took over and that spark snuffed it when they didn't instantly transform the game into something new? |

My words are but the whisper of a forgotten wind. Let them be lost or found as suits the seeker. That which I am, I am. And that which I am is all that I am in the land and all that I hve ever been. And that which I am is draku. I would not speak for any other, nor could if that was my will. But this I may speak for mine own self alone. For it was long and long and longer gone that I woke in the land in those first moments it was born. Long and long and longer long that I ran as hatchling. Since my Rite of Passage that set me to the skies, much wax has melted to rivers, and those rivers flown to oceans. Since gain I set me to the Rite and gained Ancient wings, rivers more have flown. And that which I remain.... is draku if it be any word I may speak :-). Hoard I have in millions. All that a drake may learn thus far in the land I have learned. ShadowGuard's halls are long built. But still with those things all true, with deeds done and growing grown, then still do I wake. Still do I fly. Heh... and still does the Market reel and fuddle each brow each time I speak. For I am draku, and in ll those lands mine avatar hath walked and woken, there is little and less to stand compare. Does that idiot Avatar walk other lands? Aye. Will ever I leave the land of Istaria? I shall be in nthat land as long as there be land to be. For I am draku, and what else may compare? I am Thunder to the Lightning, and who else may speak so? I am... that which I am. And that which I am... is fresh wind in new dawns, is the high skies and the broad land. And if that land is less than others to some other eye that looks, then as each eye sees it, so let it be to that sight. But the land remains, and the winds blow... and I am draku. My words are but the whisper of a forgotten wind. Let them be lost or found as suits the seeker.
Sephiranoth, called by some ShadowSeeker Nobody and Nothing ever, save The Five do Feast A Fool that walks among the Wise Of Order, of Istaria... dragon least and less in a place like no other |
