Cryptic really need to ditch the tiny shoe-box instance everything engine CO and STO uses but its never going to happen. I'd even bet good money there next game is gonna use the same engine as well.

 All you can do now is recoup that 300 bucks and try to pretend this whole thing never happened.  After I saw the thread about season patch 1.1 by cipher nemo,  I just had to shed a tear.  Cipher Nemo has long been a defender of Cryptic and STO so far, but to see him critisize STO like this tickles me.

I had a bad feeling about the game from the start. So, I refused to pay for it, even when my brother and a mate had bought it and were playing it, bugging me to play it. I finally caved in and set forth one rule: "You buy it for me, I'll play it." We played for a week, had fun in space but hated the ground segments, then got bored. The rest of our month wasted away with us not even touching it. They still like it. I still refuse to pay.

It's comical how you're constantly seeing people vehemently defending Cryptic and the game one day, and then in the next day or two, or a week later,  you see the exact same person throw up a "straw that broke the camel's back" thread, and they finally list all the things wrong with the game.

I intend to give it a year and then go back and see what happens......since I got suckered for a lifetime sub I can afford to do that.......

Earth and Beyond Emulator is in Alpha testing if anyone misses that game.......first site to come up on google search

I'll play this game if it's F2P, and it seems to be rapidly approaching that. But it doesn't seem worth paying monthly for this type of so-called MMO game.

 Looks like dstahl is adding to the flames.  Some of the lifers are calling him on it too. Guess he's just showing what cryptic actually thinks of their customers and most vocal supporters.  One guy was talking about STO becoming a virtual star trek toy box with all the add ons and no additional content. I can't really say he's wrong anymore.

Before any more pitchforks get handed out... let me offer up some info before you go burning down the village.

The 3-Nacelle Future Enterprise config will be an exclusive variant of a T5 Galaxy ship we are planning to add to the game as we increase the skillcap at various points in the future. In fact I see plans on the schedule to add T5 versions of the Galaxy, Intrepid, and Defiant class.

So yes - the Future Enterprise - 3 Nacelle config is an exclusive "variant" and may be the only T5 Galaxy for a while, but there will be ways to get similar ships in the future - they just might not have the 3rd Nacelle - or front mount single phaser cannon.

If it was before - I could see your point - but once people are calling for the store to be burned, I say its fair game to call a riot a riot.

Expecially when most people wanted an alternate way to get a T5 Galaxy - and that has been in the plans the entire time - it just required a few minutes for us to find the thread and respond with the answer.

 

Actually, it does have the bad-ass phaser cannon on the underside of the saucer - it is a unique power that comes with the ship (ie not a weapon slot) and fires a narrow cylindor beam that (I believe) will be capable of hitting multiple targets

so if you can sucker 5 other people into subbing for more than the intial 30 days or your willing to pay for there accounts yourself, we will give you gear that no one else can have, well until we add other stuff that will have strings attached to?

And this is a perfect example of why i quit STO and refuse to buy another Cryptic product. Customers raise legitimate complaints, and the Dev's reply with snide comments and mock the complainers. Why anyone would willingly pay to be treated like this is beyond me.
