I didn't read the last 39 pages about which game people are hyped for more, but I am wondering if anyone knows the answer to a question. Which game is spending more money on development and is there a large gap between the two? SWTOR is the greatest mmo ever! |

I hope that I have a hard decision to make if GW2, SWTOR and Archeage are all great games. But my money is on Archeage out lasting both. |

Originally posted by Fir3line Again, it's not a Korean grind. In fact, the game was built with Westerners in mind as well. In actuality all MMOs in existance are a grind in some shape or form. The question comes down to whether it's blatantly apparent or not. Am I hyped? Nope. I've learned long ago not to hype myself for any game. I'll simply wait and watch, and play whatever is good. I ain't hyped for either, GW2 might surprise, but not believing anything before I see it with my own eyes. MMORPG industry teaches to be sceptic. |

Originally posted by doragon86 I heard the same story about Aion.
Anyway, i learned with said story (Aion) not go get hyped for games anymore, when it comes out I'll play it, wont play Star Wars because im still in love with fantasy MMO's and the fact that it comes out during holiday season when I have uni exams in january its the perfect excuse not to play SW "I am not a robot. I am a unicorn." |

Why not get both? One is pay to play, the other is not. So ultimately, in the end, you can afford to do so.
Me? I am more hyped about The Old Republic but I will not lie that Guild War 2 has my interest. I thought the first GW was a great game, but I never did buy any of the expansions. Shame on me.
Overall TOR is more appealing to me though. I, for one, enjoy the art style they are using along with the story elements that are going to be tied into the game. I love to explore and if the land is anything similar to Britannia or Azeroth, then I should have no problem getting lost in the game. Currently Playing:

Its better to be quiet and perceived as stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. |

You're kind right. Aion went through the process of "westernization" before it was properly launched in the west after its eastern launch. GW2 is essentially only funded by NCSoft, that's the extent of their involvement in its development because NCWest aka dudes from ANet are in direct control of it and they're western developers. Nature without Technology is little more than animals running about. |

Is anyone not hyped for either one. I don't get what the hype would be about, neither offer something that's out of the ordinary. |

I think TOR is going to have LOADS of people playing it at the start, but a few months in it's just going to start draining. It'll still have a solid playerbase, but nothing near Guild Wars 2. That game will be the next big thing in the MMO world, mark my words! |

GW2 of course, i would kill for a nice SW game but havent those swtor lovers watched any gameplay videos, didnt you guys see how stationary and dull the saber battles are? it looked really boring and it will probably be another theme park with a different theme. And by the look of the people's reactions/comments/expressions, the community forming around Swtor looks disturbing. I would rather play KOTOR instead of seeing trolls roaming in the galaxy. On the other hand, guild wars had a nice and mature community that promotes competitive gameplay, which i prefer. And approach of Anet to the dev process of GW2 is so professional. While i like sw a lot, Guild Wars' story is excellent and the world is very nicely designed as well. I consumed most of the game list of this site with my friends and still guild wars 1 is the most solid game, and gw2 is the most promising game, period (is it the trend?) PS: also seriously, be objective and watch both game's videos, really? can you really even make a statement like "gw2 vs swtor"???? it sounds funny :) it is gw2 alone, then another game vs some another game |
