you can get a 14 day free trial code and use it to 'upgrade" your old account and gain a 14 day free access to check out the interesting changes.

My "old" account was back in the days of logging in via the MSN Gaming Zone. I have no idea what the username, password, or account name would be. I remember my main character name and server, and that is about it!

All of that info was passed to Turbine when they left the Microsoft billing system.

They can work with that much information for retrieving the account . You may have to provide more in order to get control of the account though.

I use to play way back when the game was new and wanted to check it out. It still plays the same but it's amazing how quickly you gather money now. I remember back in the day I would pick up apples off the ground and sell them to vendors! Anything to get money and now after one trip into the first newbie dungeon I'm rich. Seemed like it use to be a lot harder too. Are the enemies weaker now? Anyways I may continue to run around for the next 2 weeks but I can't justify $12.95 a month any more when new games are $14.95. Hell I was only paying $9.99 for LotR. If they dropped the price I'd probably be back. Also I'm surprised that they have not merged the servers. Is there really enough activity on them all? Frostfell seemed to have a decent amount of people talking in chat and I saw many low level toons too but if they merged the servers there would probably be a lot of people on 1 or 2 servers + Darktide. More people might stay after the free trial if they saw a larger population.

About the cost:

1. Some how I don't think a $3 difference a month is keeping you from playing.
2. It IS cheaper than most new games.
3. The cost of running the game has not gone down. Even though the game LOOKS dated, the way it is run is probably not much different than any new game. It takes bandwidth, hardware, electricity, devs, etc. to run the game, which all have continually rising costs. We're lucky it's still $12.95.
4. You CAN get the price down to $9.99 a month, but you have to pay for 12 months at once. See the Premium Services page.

About server merges:
1. AC was not built with server merges in mind. It's not impossible, it's just very difficult (e.g. how do you handle conflicting names and the big issues, houses?).
2. Server merges don't solve the real problem, which is attracting player. AC2 merged servers, that didn't do much other than slightly delay death.

For once Jaguar and I are on the same page.

The money is the operating costs, it costs money to keep the game there and running each month and there is a monthly update with content and fixes. The cost has nothing to do with when the game was made or anything of that nature. It is a very justified, and easily affordable cost.

I suppose your right. Anyone know what the population is on FF? It seems very empty to me and it's suppose to be one of the more popular servers, right?

I suppose it depends on what you're doing and when you're doing it. The peak times are around 9-11 pm est. So if you're playing at like 9-10 AM then it might be more empty.

Also AC is a large world with a lot to do, so people are spread out doing what they enjoy. That is why general chat is so useful. Unlike other games which have the 5 end game raids that everyone has to do 100 times, there is a ton of stuff to do in AC. So the people are there they just might not be where you are.

Also allegiances have their mansions which is where they keep buff bots and such. So when people aren't questing or hunting they typically recall to the mansion to get stuff or buff back up. And allegiances have their own chat channel that they pay more attention to then the general chats.

I would suggest just saying in general chat that you are looking for a fun allegiance, then things will pick up for you.
